Mason County Search & Rescue (MCSAR) is a 501(c)(3) rescue organization that provides Search & Rescue responses to those that are in need. We are located in Shelton, Washington, and provide search and rescue services under the purview of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
Our service area is primarily Mason County, which is North of Thurston County (Olympia), East of Grays Harbor (Aberdeen), south of Jefferson County (Port Townsend), and East of Kitsap County (Bremerton). We provide mutual aid to all counties in Washington when requested.
Our dedicated members come to the aid of anyone lost or injured wherever they might be. We find children, search for lost people with dementia, mental health issues, and developmental challenges, respond to major disasters, and perform life-saving first aid and CPR. We support the Mason County Sheriff and other Law Enforcement Agencies in evidence searches.
We do not charge for our services and solely rely on donations to help purchase equipment such as gas, radios, laptops, hypothermia kits, radios, ropes, rescue litter, K9 training, and other hardware and equipment. Thanks for your support!
