Mama Charlotte was spayed yesterday and will no longer have unwanted litters. 👏
Thanks to Planned PEThood of GA and their mobile spay/neuter program Fido Fixers, she was able to receive surgery for a reasonable price. Fixing your pets saves lives and is imperative to reduce the homeless animal population. We highly recommend booking an appointment with this low cost option!
Charlotte is recovering well but we have many more to fix! Donate below to help us spay and neuter more of these precious fur babies! 🙏

It’s a good time of year to remember this. If you wouldn’t walk on the pavement barefoot don’t make your pup do it. 🥵

It's National Heat Awareness Day: aka the season of “why is the sidewalk spicy?”

If your flip flops are working overtime, imagine walking barefoot in a fur coat. That’s summer for our pets. Asphalt heats up fast and can burn paws in seconds. A quick test you can try without any fancy equipment: place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you’re pulling it away before you count to 7, your dog would like a rain check on that walk.

How to help your pets avoid becoming tiny melted marshmallows:
☀️ Walk when the sun is still waking up or already heading to bed
🌳 Choose grass over pavement whenever possible
💦 Keep the water bowl full and the shade plentiful
🚗 Cars are not for “just a minute” stops. They turn into ovens faster than you can say “I’ll be right back”
🚨 If your pet is panting like they just ran a marathon, drooling, or acting sluggish, it’s time to cool them down ASAP

Adopt. Foster. Volunteer. However you show up, it matters.

Happy “Two Besties” Tuesday! 💕
After the loss of our senior boxer, our pack has gotten a little needy. 💔
Belle (from Polk County, GA Animal Adoption and Recovery Shelter) and Stella (from Gwinnett Animal Shelter) are happy to have each other to lean on. They are totally different dogs both in breed and personality but are the best of friends. We are grateful for their special bond. 🥰
