Higher Ground is a progressive church that seeks to reach those that typical churches do not. We reach out to college students and single adults. We love the intellectually gifted, mentally challenged, spiritually confused, cynical, drug addicted, and sick. We reach out to those who have suffered child abuse or war-time trauma, criminals, those who dislike organized religion, striptease dancers an
d prostitutes, pregnant teens, and unwed parents. We support the rights of pre-born infants. We support sustainable energy and conservation of the biosphere as exemplified in the Bible by Noah's preservation of species and Joseph's rationing of grains. Our motivation is that all these people, through our imitation of our Lord Jesus, including the sharing of the Gospel and daily prayer, lead people to eternal salvation. By salvation, we mean love, praise, reliance upon, and trust in God.
