Ridgetop Greenhouse & Gifts
Reason for the nomination--what makes the business stand out:
A true farmer at heart Teresa Withers turned her lifetime of to***co farming into a totally different operation as the market changed and to***co farming was no longer a way of life. She used her greenhouses where she grew her to***co plants and began growing flowers, vegetables, and herbs. With a green thumb and a will to work hard, Teresa, along with the help and encouragement from her mother and her sister, completely transformed her farming operation into beautiful blooms that spread across our county and others. People come from everywhere to shop at her greenhouses and as time passed, she added more greenhouses she added shrubs, trees, mulch, rocks, and various other items. They offer landscaping and do a marvelous job at many local businesses and residences. Each job has carefully selected items that accent the properties.
From flowering bushes, shrubs, and River rock they beautify many homes and businesses alike. With her personal touch.
Teresa is almost always first line to help support all the Chamber activities and has been a valuable member of the chamber for many, many years. She has donated plants for many veterans projects and also aided in beautifying downtown with hanging baskets and flower beds.
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home has been a trusted standard in funeral care for Casey County families since the 1950s. Since purchasing the business in 2011, Curt Demrow has transformed and expanded the services offered while maintaining the compassion, dignity, and personal care that families have come to expect during some of life's most difficult moments.
Under Curt's leadership, McKinney-Brown has continuously invested in both its facilities and services. Ongoing renovations have enhanced the funeral home, while the addition of vault services, an expanded monument and headstone division, pre-planning programs, and pet cremation services have allowed the business to better meet the evolving needs of the community.
Beyond the services they provide, McKinney-Brown Funeral Home remains deeply invested in Casey County. The business has expanded its employee base, created additional opportunities within the community, and consistently seeks ways to better serve local families. Rather than simply maintaining a long-standing business, Curt has worked diligently to identify community needs and develop meaningful services that provide comfort, support, and value.
For its dedication to excellence, continuous improvement, community involvement, and unwavering commitment to helping families navigate life's most challenging moments, McKinney-Brown Funeral Home is deserving of recognition as the June Business of the Month.
