EVERY DROP COUNTS

Lake Liberty continues to experience declining water levels, and those levels continue to decrease daily.

While rain remains in the forecast, substantially more rainfall will be needed to reverse current conditions. Water conservation remains important, and we encourage everyone served by the Lake Liberty Reservoir to continue doing their part to reduce unnecessary water use.

Now is also a good time to review your emergency preparedness plans. Emergency preparedness guidelines recommend storing at least one gallon of water per person per day for drinking and basic needs. Households may want to consider purchasing and storing COMMERCIALLY bottled drinking water as part of their emergency preparedness plan.

Livestock owners should also begin considering how they would provide water to animals should conditions worsen. Identifying alternative water sources and contingency plans now can help avoid problems later.

This advisory applies to customers whose water supply originates from the Lake Liberty Reservoir. If you are unsure where your water comes from, please contact your water provider for more information.

Thank you for helping conserve water and protect our community’s water supply.

Nominations for June Business of the Month were:
Hospice of Lake Cumberland
Ridgetop Greenhouse
McKinney Brown Funeral Home

Winner to announced later today! Please share the post and share the love! ❤️❤️❤️

Here’s a small spotlight on each nominee!

Hospice of Lake Cumberland

Reason for the nomination — what makes the business stand out:
Hospice of Lake Cumberland stands out for its unwavering commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. For over 40 years, the organization has gone above and beyond to ensure patients and families are supported with dignity, respect, and comfort during life’s most challenging moments—regardless of their ability to pay.

Hospice of Lake Cumberland touches the heart of our community by walking alongside patients and families during life’s most vulnerable moments. Serving seven counties, our organization provides comfort, dignity, and compassionate support when it is needed most—offering not only expert care, but also a sense of peace, understanding, and hope. Through grief support, community outreach, and a deep commitment to serving all who need care, Hospice of Lake Cumberland brings comfort that extends far beyond the patient and into the lives of families and the community as a whole.

Ridgetop Greenhouse & Gifts

Reason for the nomination--what makes the business stand out:
A true farmer at heart Teresa Withers turned her lifetime of to***co farming into a totally different operation as the market changed and to***co farming was no longer a way of life. She used her greenhouses where she grew her to***co plants and began growing flowers, vegetables, and herbs. With a green thumb and a will to work hard, Teresa, along with the help and encouragement from her mother and her sister, completely transformed her farming operation into beautiful blooms that spread across our county and others. People come from everywhere to shop at her greenhouses and as time passed, she added more greenhouses she added shrubs, trees, mulch, rocks, and various other items. They offer landscaping and do a marvelous job at many local businesses and residences. Each job has carefully selected items that accent the properties.

From flowering bushes, shrubs, and River rock they beautify many homes and businesses alike. With her personal touch.
Teresa is almost always first line to help support all the Chamber activities and has been a valuable member of the chamber for many, many years. She has donated plants for many veterans projects and also aided in beautifying downtown with hanging baskets and flower beds.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home has been a trusted standard in funeral care for Casey County families since the 1950s. Since purchasing the business in 2011, Curt Demrow has transformed and expanded the services offered while maintaining the compassion, dignity, and personal care that families have come to expect during some of life's most difficult moments.

Under Curt's leadership, McKinney-Brown has continuously invested in both its facilities and services. Ongoing renovations have enhanced the funeral home, while the addition of vault services, an expanded monument and headstone division, pre-planning programs, and pet cremation services have allowed the business to better meet the evolving needs of the community.

Beyond the services they provide, McKinney-Brown Funeral Home remains deeply invested in Casey County. The business has expanded its employee base, created additional opportunities within the community, and consistently seeks ways to better serve local families. Rather than simply maintaining a long-standing business, Curt has worked diligently to identify community needs and develop meaningful services that provide comfort, support, and value.

For its dedication to excellence, continuous improvement, community involvement, and unwavering commitment to helping families navigate life's most challenging moments, McKinney-Brown Funeral Home is deserving of recognition as the June Business of the Month.
