We also rescue some small barn animals About us:
Welcome to Liberty Acres, a 501c3 non profit Sanctuary with a focus on senior, geriatric, disabled and hospice dogs and cats. We work with several shelter partners to pull animals from their euthanasia lists. At the Sanctuary we want the animals to have all the comforts of living in a home while they wait for their furrever family. In our Canine Com
munity the dogs live in tiny houses in small groups. Each house is furnished with comfy seating, doggy door, entertainment, heating/cooling and a fenced in area. There are 22 acres of property for the dogs to explore. The volunteers and staff spend their time taking the dogs on hikes on the trails, swimming in the pond or running through the woods in the six acre off leash area. Housing the dogs in this way helps us learn more about how they would do in a home setting. We are able to work with them on house training and other behavioral issues before they go to live with a new family. Our goal is to provide them with not only a place to wait for a home, but a place where they can feel at home. The Cat Cabin is where our feline friends call home. The cats are grouped in colonies. They have indoor and outdoor enclosures with comfy seating and fun things to climb. We cater to a lot of feral or semi feral cats. There are also some who just don't want to be inside. We have several cats who enjoy going on a hike or fishing in the 3 acre pond. Many just love to lounge in the sun on the big deck overlooking the pond. We strive to learn each cats' needs and preferences to ensure they live a happy life while here. We are always working toward building more enclosures and enriching the lives of the Sanctuary cats. Our Farm Friends area developed after we noticed how many farm animals end up in animal control shelters. We can house 6 to 8 small farm animals with fenced areas and small shelters. These animals are all rescues and are also available for adoption. We would love to expand this area and help more in the future. About Adopting:
To adopt please go to https://www.libertyacresunited.com to submit an application. Once it is processed you will receive a call notifying you of the status of the application. If the application is approved, we will set up a time for you to meet with your potential new house mate. Please note that if you have dogs currently we recommend that you bring them with you to meet the new dog. Adoption fees are $100 for a dog, $50 for a cat and & $150 for most farm animals . This includes the spay/neuter and vaccinations. You will receive all of the medical records when the adoption is completed. Sanctuary Citizens:
The Sanctuary does have animals who are not available for adoption. These animals may have behavioral or medical issues that keep them from being rehomed. Whatever the reason Sanctuary Citizens will live out their days as permanent residents of the Sanctuary where they have round the clock care and support. Helping homeless animals is something that we feel everyone can get behind. If you would like to donate or volunteer, please reach out as we'd love to meet you! If you're unable to help, please invite all of your friends to like our page so that we can get the word out about this amazing sanctuary. "Sadly, you can't change an animal's past,
but you have the power to rewrite its future."
