Yes this is what makes Liberty-Casey County so special.

Sometimes it’s the unexpected moments that remind you just how special a community really is.

Recently, a call came in to the Chamber from a woman in Tennessee who was trying to locate a gentleman connected to the Marine Su***de Guard. She hadn’t been able to reach him for months and was simply concerned about his well-being. While I didn’t know him personally, I told her I’d do my best to help.

What happened next is exactly why Casey County is so special.

Within minutes of me reaching out, members of our local VFW stepped in—responding quickly and pointing me in the right direction. From there, connections led to others in the community, including those involved with the Quilt of Valor efforts, who recognized the gentleman and helped pass along information. Before long, we were able to confirm his situation and connect the right people so that the woman received an update.

No fanfare. No hesitation. Just people helping people.

This is what makes Casey County such a blessing. It’s the relationships between organizations like the VFW, local service groups, businesses, schools, and so many others. It’s the willingness to answer a call, respond to a message, and care about someone you may not even know.

I’m incredibly grateful to be part of a community where people show up for each other—where compassion, connection, and cooperation are simply part of who we are.

Casey County truly is a wonderful place to live and work. ❤️

We recently had the pleasure of a visit from Kalie Smithers, who discovered the ideal Barbie toy. She graciously posed for a charming photograph.

When you purchase a toy you get a free children's book.
