Greetings Liberty Giving Circle Members!

We hope you are enjoying the spring and all associated activities--time with family, wrapping up busy school years, filling the hummingbird feeders, smelling the flowers...

We are writing today with a quick update on all things Liberty Giving Circle.

First, as mentioned late last year, our fund has a new home! We are so grateful to the The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri for stepping up for us last year when we had to make an unexpected change. We are now fully set up to accept donations, so if you would like to make your 2026 gift now, or to contribute a make-up gift from last year, we welcome that! Please note that a 3% fee is taken from your contribution to cover processing. Given this, if you would be willing to cover this fee with your gift, you can do so by contributing $310.00.

As we gear up for a great year of giving in 2026, we are going to be actively recruiting new members this summer. Many of you have provided great ideas and suggestions to us over the years. If you are interested in joining our 2026 marketing committee, which will meet for coffee once or twice and plan our marketing and outreach activities for the summer, please reach out to Claire either through this email or at [email protected].

We are pleased to announce our 2024 Liberty Giving Circle grant recipient: The Kansas City Free Eye Clinic!

KC Free Eye Clinic executive director Birju Solanki and board member Andrew Tippin were there to receive the award and share powerful stories about how their programs impact young people with significant vision impairment.

We will share updates here as their work gets underway in Liberty elementary schools in 2025.

Our Lady of Mercy hosted an opening reception for their new patio last week--the weather was beautiful! We are so pleased to see great things happening for this organization in 2024, thanks to the generosity and support of LGC Members! Liberty Giving Circle

Hello Liberty Giving Circle Members! We are excited to share that the patio expansion at Our Lady Of Mercy Country Home is almost complete. LGC Members have an opportunity this Saturday, April 6th to help put the finishing touches on this beautiful new space. We will meet at 9:00 am to plant flowers in containers on the patio and surrounding areas. Please join us if you can. Contact Claire Bishop or Dianne Ferrell for more information. We are excited to share that the courtyard expansion/beautification project at Our Lady Of Mercy Country Home was started last week! We were thrilled to present Our Lady Of Mercy Country Home with the 2023 Liberty Giving Circle grant. Due to growing membership and the continued support of many long-time donors, we were able to award $20,000 this year, which will be put toward the renovation of outdoor space for residents at the assisted & independent living facility. Hooray!! 🎉🎉🎉
