We believe the arts enhance and enrich our lives, the lives of our children, our souls and our community. They magnify our emotional commitment to our city; they increase the value of our property; they are worth our support. We hope that others will choose to support the Liberty Arts Foundation with gifts and donations, either to a specific Foundation project or in support of the general arts com

munity in Liberty, MO. Such gifts are not only an investment in the spirit of the arts, but in all lives they touch.

Want to know why this guy's smiling? Because he is the newest member of the Liberty Arts Foundation Board! Welcome, Steve Person!

Steve is a retired visual art teacher and was with the Liberty Public Schools for 18 years. Over the years he's been a member of various singing and theatrical performing groups. Love of the arts runs in his family. His mother was a music teacher, band and choir teacher, and church choir director. One of his daughters is a graduate of LPS Fine Arts Department.

You may also recognize Steve from the soccer pitch! He coached HS Soccer boys and girls for 26 years, 22 of those as a head coach. He was the head women's coach at LNHS where the '22 and '23 teams posted back-to-back Final Four finishes with an undefeated state title in '23. How about that?!

We're so glad Steve is willing to serve on the Liberty Arts Foundation Board!

What a great response we're getting to "Symphony in the Park!" Looks like you love the project as much as we do! In addition to individual gifts of varying amounts, we've received sponsorship commitments for three instruments and three benches. Thank you!

BUT, to make this special park amenity a reality, we still need your support. A gift of any size is so very helpful!

You can also sponsor a bench for $5,000 or an instrument for $10,000. Sponsorships are a meaningful (and permanent) way to honor or memorialize someone who provided artistic inspiration to you or others.

Donate via the QR code, the link in the comments, or by contacting the Liberty Arts Foundation at [email protected].

Here's another of the "instruments" you'll soon find in Liberty's new "Symphony in the Park" amenity. And guess what? This one already has a sponsor!

The "Flowers" sound like soft, sweet gongs. Each Flower features a distinct musical chord, size, height, and color. Each one has 4 different long-sustaining notes.

Every donation brings the sights and sounds of "Symphony in the Park" closer to fruition! You can even sponsor an instrument or a bench in memory or honor of your favorite fine arts educator. (Watch future posts to see sponsorships already confirmed!)

Here are three MORE of the awesome "instruments" you'll soon find in Liberty's new "Symphony in the Park" amenity. We need your support to make this happen!

The "Duet" features both a marimba and a metallophone in one instrument and has four mallets for people to join in making music.

The "Serenade" has a fun twist: an attached songbook with coordinating color-coded chimes so anyone can play a familiar song!

The "Bossa Nova Drums" are inspired by the Brazilian timbau and add a punch of deep, rich percussive tones to the park symphony.

Please consider donating or even sponsoring one of these wonderful pieces. Perhaps in memory or honor of your favorite fine arts educator!

As promised, we're featuring some of the "instruments" that will be part of the new "Symphony in the Park" amenity in Liberty. Please consider donating or even sponsoring one of the awesome pieces. Perhaps in memory or honor of your favorite fine arts educator!

The "Contrabass Chimes" are range in height from seven to nine feet and are stunning in both their towering appearance and low resonant sound.

The "Imbarimba" design combines two African classic instruments, the marimba (a resonated xylophone) and the kalimb (a thumb piano).

The "Pegasus" is a 23-note resonated metallophone designed to catch any musician's attention by spreading its wings into two keys, C Major and A Minor.

Watch future posts to see more of the pieces!

To make the music possible, we need everyone's support.

We're thrilled to be partnering in Liberty's newest park amenity: "Symphony in the Park!" It is well worth your support. The inspiration of Rob Weagley and Carol Brock, this installation welcomes all to come make music in the park.

Combining sculptural and aesthetic designs, each "instrument" invites users young and old to join in the playing. The unique pieces are a mix of sizes, colors, and musical sounds. We'll feature some of them in upcoming posts.

To make the music possible, we need everyone's support. Please give and spread the word.
