St. Mary's Home for Mothers

St. Mary's Home for Mothers Our mission, as a residential and community outreach campus, is to make the pro-life path achievable St.

Homeless pregnant women fall through the cracks of existing social services agencies. Our research informs us that every month, four to five homeless expectant mothers seek help at one of the eleven Kansas City area Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRC’s). Mary’s Home for Mothers will provide single, homeless women, whose pregnancies are at risk, with emotional, material and spiritual assistance to all

ow each of them the empowerment that comes with choosing life for her unborn infant. Mary’s Home for Mothers will allow each mother to reside at the home for up to two years post-delivery while she acquires vocational/career training, parenting/home-making skills as well as spiritual guidance to become fully ready to raise her child in a stable home environment. Mary’s will use time-tested and evidence-based best practices to prepare each woman to successfully maintain employment and parenting responsibilities, so that she can forge a productive future for her family in society. The skills and confidence she gains will not only affect her and her child’s life, but future generations as well.

"SEXUAL WELLNESS IS SEXUAL INTEGRITY"
What an honor and blessing to welcome Dr. Joe Malone to St. Mary's Home on Friday, May 15th, to speak with our residents about “Women’s Health and S*xual Integrity.”

Several of our staff first met Dr. Malone at the annual Alliance for Life Conference, and we immediately fell in love with both him and his wife, as well as the important work they are doing to educate and empower others.

This is such an important topic, especially in today’s society where s*x is often treated as a commodity, reduced to an act of immediate gratification, and portrayed as a form of entertainment rather than something sacred and life-giving. Both young people and adults are constantly exposed to messages that separate intimacy from dignity, commitment, emotional health, and authentic love.

Conversations like these are necessary to help educate, empower, and remind individuals of their God-given worth, the beauty of healthy relationships, and the importance of respecting both themselves and others. We are grateful to Dr. Joe Malone for speaking truth with compassion and for helping our residents navigate these realities with knowledge, integrity, and hope.

Dr. Malone holds a Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance, with a minor in neuropsychology and a specialization in women’s health and s*xual wellness. He taught at Middle Tennessee State University from 2005–2017 and has also guest lectured at Vanderbilt University, Princeton University, and other major universities across the country.

He is the author of Battles of the S*xes: Raising S*xual IQ to Lower S*xual Conflict and Empower Lasting Love and founder of S*x IQ. We are deeply grateful for his willingness to share his knowledge, passion, and heart with our residents and staff.

Today, we were blessed to welcome the 8th graders from Saint Gabriel Catholic School for their service project.

Dr. Matt Loehr always has meaningful work ready for these young people, and today was no exception. You will not find many places where the CEO is willing to roll up his sleeves, get his hands dirty, and work right alongside students in service.

We want to congratulate each and every one of these students as they prepare to graduate this evening. Congratulations! May you always allow God to be your guiding star as you close this chapter of your secondary education and begin your high school journey. May He continue to guide, protect, and bless each of you in the years ahead.

We are grateful for these young people, their willingness to serve, and the beautiful witness of servant leadership shown today.

Today we celebrated Jerry and Rosemary’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. We were blessed to have a wonderful number of staff, board members, and friends join us for Holy Mass and brunch in celebration of this beautiful milestone.

Jerry faithfully serves as our Facility Manager, while Rosemary previously taught Art to our residents and continues to lovingly support our ministry in so many ways — helping Jerry care for our lawn and assisting with our Wednesday fellowship gatherings. She is also well known and loved for her homemade cinnamon rolls, which have blessed many of us over the years.

We are deeply grateful for Jerry and Rosemary’s faithful contributions to our ministry of bringing hope and saving lives — one life at a time. Their witness of love, commitment, and service continues to inspire all of us. Congratulations on 50 beautiful years of marriage, faith, and dedication!

Today we were blessed to welcome a wonderful group of 45 freshmen from St. Pius X High School, along with three teachers and three parents, for their service day. Even with the rainy and stormy weather, their generosity, energy, and willingness to serve made the day truly special.

We are always deeply grateful for the help we receive from our young people. Their presence reminds us that the spirit of service and compassion is alive and growing in the next generation.

At Marian Ministries, we are intentional about sharing our mission with young people throughout the Diocese of Kansas City–St. Joseph and the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, inviting them to witness firsthand the importance of caring for mothers and babies in need.

Thank you, St. Pius X, for your time, your hearts for service, and for making a difference today!
