Dear KCNS followers~
As of this week, the KC Northland Strong Collaborative will be ending. As I have entered into a new season, it has been challenging to dedicate the time and energy needed to sustain this effort. However, I want to celebrate what we have done over the last several years! First and foremost...thank you to the members of KCNS and especially our Steering Committee. Because of each of you we have done great things in the community. Just some of our accomplishments include:
1. Providing free trauma and resilience trainings to 100's of Northlanders to encourage healthy self-care amid COVID.
2. Weekly Connected Conversations to educate our community about the impact of trauma, systemic racism, and resilience.
3. Collaborating with organizations throughout the Northland for self-care and su***de prevention events.
4. Partnering with community organizations and schools to provide trainings and community discussions about the impact of trauma in the Northland.
5. Creating Circle of Care to support our professional helpers in the Northland.
6. And a big shoutout to our interns over the last couple of years! Sydney, Naomi and Mari I am so grateful for all you did for KCNS!
The work is not over! Many of you are doing amazing things to address the impact of trauma in our communities! Please know I and many others with KCNS are still available to support your efforts! Don't hesitate to reach out!
Wishing you each hope and healing,
Jamie Wehmeyer
