🥕🥕HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT🥕🥕

My dear friends,

It is with so much gratitude that I wish to inform you that as of today, April 8th, our board of directors has made the difficult decision to close down Growing Heart & dissolve our nonprofit status. We have also cancelled the fundraiser event previously scheduled for Saturday, June 6th.

I know, you are probably thinking about how quickly this decision has been made. But in reality, decisions like this aren’t made overnight. This has been slowly building over the last year. There is so much need in our community and not enough support in the way of volunteers, board members, staff, and finances. We have been operating on a skeleton crew for too long. We began hiring part time staff to fill admin and baking roles, but here’s the bottom line — there’s not enough money to pay someone to do the jobs that need done, & not anyone willing or able to volunteer that much time and resources.

We have been blessed by donations from individuals and businesses over the last 2 years. We LOVE our volunteers, our staff, and our board members and are so grateful for everything they have done to help us further our mission to make healthy, fresh foods available to anyone who needs them. Thank you to each of you who have helped in any way, donated, and prayed for us.

So, what does this mean moving forward?
This Saturday, April 11th will be our final food assistance day from 3-7pm at 220 Quarry Lane in Liberty Hill.
Please pickup the items we have. Whatever is leftover by 7pm will be donated to Operation Liberty Hill (OLH - Liberty Hill).

For any future resources needed, please contact OLH or Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM - Leander).

This has been a beautiful 2 years of serving our community with fresh foods. We are so thankful for every moment along the way — I am so thankful for every lesson I have learned, recipe I have tried, friends I have made, and skill I was taught. YOU are what has made those things possible.

Most importantly, THANK YOU JESUS for putting this calling on my heart. You, Lord, have provided so much growth and wisdom in this time, as well as tons of tangible skills!! I know I am nothing without You, and only You Lord have helped Growing Heart make it this far. 🧡
To every person reading this, may God bless you abundantly in all your days forward.

Thank you, again. 🧡

I know I’m early on my Sunday Spiritual posts, but this entire Easter weekend is very spiritual so I’m writing it today.

Easter weekend is such a beautiful reminder of hope, renewal, and the incredible depth of God’s love for us. 🌿✝️

From the quiet reflection of Good Friday to the joy of Resurrection Sunday, we are reminded that no matter how dark things may seem, light and life always have the final word. This season invites us to pause, give thanks, and remember the greatest gift we’ve ever been given.

“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” — Matthew 28:6
“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” — Psalm 46:5

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16

May your heart be filled with peace, your home with joy, and your life with renewed faith this Easter weekend. He is risen indeed! đź’›

Cooking in bulk has been a game changer for my routine lately 🙌
Instead of spending time in the kitchen every single day, I dedicate a few hours to cooking large batches of meals all at once. Not only does it save me a ton of time during the week, but it also cuts down on unnecessary spending đź’¸
I portion everything out and freeze what I don’t need right away. That means on busy days, I’ve got easy, homemade meals ready to go—no stress, no takeout, and no extra cost.
If you’re looking to simplify your life and stay on budget, bulk cooking is 100% worth trying. Your future self will thank you! 🍲❄️

P.S. Save those Easter leftovers for another day instead of forgetting about them in the fridge (🙋‍♀️) or just throwing them away (also guilty). Not any more!

We are incredibly grateful and humbled to have had the opportunity to serve and feed so many families again this month. It is such a blessing to be able to come together as a community and make a difference for those in need.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and support — we truly couldn’t do this without you.

We are already looking ahead to April and are excited to continue serving even more families. If you’re interested in signing up for a bake shift or are able to help with deliveries, please reach out. We would love to have you be part of this mission.

Here is a sign up genius link if you want to sign up to help. Spread the word.

Today, March 30, we celebrate National Doctors’ Day—a time to honor the men and women who dedicate their lives to caring for others, guiding us toward healthier lives, and standing with us in both prevention and healing.

But good health doesn’t start in a doctor’s office—it starts in our everyday choices.

What we eat matters. The food we put into our bodies fuels our energy, supports our immune system, and plays a major role in long-term health. Choosing real, nourishing ingredients isn’t just a trend—it’s one of the most powerful ways we can take care of ourselves and our families.

At Growing Heart, we take that seriously.

95% of our items are handmade from scratch using real, thoughtfully chosen ingredients—because we believe the people we serve deserve more than convenience… they deserve nourishment.

Today is a great reminder:
Take care of your body.
Be mindful of what you eat.
And don’t underestimate the impact of simple, healthy choices over time.

To all doctors—thank you for what you do.
And to everyone else—let’s do our part to stay well. 💙

Today begins Holy Week…the week leading up to Jesus’s resurrection.

Some people hear the Easter story so often that its weight begins to fade.

But the cross was never light.

Jesus walked toward it knowing the pain, the betrayal, the nails—and the silence before the stone was rolled away.

And still… He chose it.

That’s what love looks like when it costs everything.

There are moments we wonder if anyone truly sees us—if anyone understands the weight we carry.

Easter reminds us: He does.

He stepped into suffering on purpose.
He carried what we never could.
He chose the cross so we could have hope.

Before the empty tomb, there was a hill—and a love that stayed.

This isn’t just about what He endured.
It’s about what you mean to Him.

You were worth the walk.
You were worth the wounds.

So don’t rush past the cross. Sit with it. Let it humble you. Let it heal you.

Because His love had you in mind all along.

Happy National Waffle Day! 🧇

At Growing Heart, we love finding simple, practical ways to help families stretch their budgets while still enjoying fun, comforting meals—and this is one of our favorites.

Did you know you can make your own pancake (and waffle!) mix at home using ingredients you probably already have in your pantry? Instead of buying boxed mixes, making it yourself is an easy way to save money and still enjoy a delicious breakfast.

Here’s a simple DIY pancake/waffle mix you can keep on hand:

• 4.5 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/3 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons baking powder
• ½ tablespoon baking soda
• 3/4 cup powdered milk
• 1.5 teaspoons salt

Just mix and store in an airtight container!

When you’re ready to cook, add:
• 3/4 cup water to 1 cup of the mix

That’s it—quick, affordable, and made with love ❤️

Small steps like this can make a big difference over time. Whether you’re making pancakes for your family or waffles for a special treat, you’re creating something meaningful without overspending.

There’s something powerful about coming together—not just as a community, but as the hands and feet of Jesus.

As we prepare for our upcoming Grains & Gratitude event, I’ve been reflecting on this truth:

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…” — Matthew 25:35

This isn’t just a verse—it’s a calling.

There are families in our own community right now who are quietly struggling. Empty pantries. Tough decisions. Unseen needs. And yet, this is exactly where God invites us in—not to fix everything, but to show up, to serve, and to love.

Grains & Gratitude is more than a fundraiser.
It’s a chance to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
It’s a chance to turn compassion into action.

Every meal we help provide, every dollar raised, every moment given—it all matters. Because when we feed someone in need, we are reflecting the heart of Christ.

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18

Whether you come to support, serve, donate, or simply spread the word…you are making a difference.

Let’s be a community that doesn’t just talk about love…
Let’s live it.

đź’› Join us for Grains & Gratitude
đź’› Help us feed families in need
💛 Be the reason someone doesn’t go to bed hungry

Because this is what faith in action looks like.

Today’s Frugal Friday tip is about making your groceries last longer.

Groceries are expensive right now… so let’s stop throwing money in the trash 🥴

This week’s Frugal Friday tip is simple: store your food the right way and make it last longer.

Here are some easy wins 👇

🥬 Leafy greens → Wrap in a paper towel + store in a container to absorb moisture
🍓 Berries → Don’t wash until ready to eat (they mold faster when wet!)
🌿 Herbs → Treat like flowers—trim stems + place in water in the fridge
🥕 Carrots & celery → Store in water to keep them crisp
🍎 Apples → Keep separate—they make other produce spoil faster
🥔 Potatoes & onions → Store in a cool, dark place (NOT together!)

🥫 Pantry staples tip:
Use airtight containers for things like rice, pasta, and flour—they stay fresh longer and prevent bugs 👀

💡 Real talk: If you waste even $10 of groceries a week… that’s over $500 a year back in your pocket just by storing food better.

Small habits = BIG savings
