Back Deck at the Morris Museum
Saturday, June 20, 2026, 7:30pm

Nat Adderley Jr. brings a lifetime of musical storytelling to the stage, blending jazz sophistication with soulful lyricism. Best known for his decades‑long work as music director and arranger for Luther Vandross, Adderley’s piano voice is warm, elegant, and deeply rooted in the blues and gospel traditions that shaped him. His quartet delivers a polished, intimate sound that feels tailor‑made for the Back Deck.
A member of one of jazz’s most storied families, Adderley carries forward the legacy of his father Nat Adderley Sr. and uncle Cannonball Adderley while carving out his own expressive path. His concerts are rich with melody, memory, and understated virtuosity — the kind of performance that draws listeners in and leaves them glowing long after the final chord.

Tickets are $33-$66
Order tickets online HERE:

Saturday, July 20, 2019 — Yalies, come back to campus to share your experience and support incoming Yale College students at the 2019 First-year Scholars at Yale program (https://fsy.yale.edu/).

Now in our 4th year in partnership with Yale College and Yale Summer Session, our program —Alumni Perspectives: Navigating Yale and Beyond — is designed specifically for incoming first-year students from under-resourced backgrounds, many of whom are first or among the first in their families to attend college.

By providing early access over five weeks this summer to Yale’s opportunities and resources, including alumni, these students live on campus to sharpen their writing and quantitative skills, learn about campus life, and become Yale students.

Alumni with similar backgrounds are helpful in unique ways to our incoming students since they share their real world experiences with heart-felt perspectives. Focusing on developing career interests, strengthening life skills, and planning ahead will help our students take advantage of all that Yale has to offer.

To see alumni and students in action, watch our 2017 FSY video - https://youtu.be/bLEncApf8ho

All IVY+ Event

Free Guided Tour of
BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham
in Robbinsville, NJ
the World's Second Largest Hindu Templ
https://usa.akshardham.org/visit

Saturday, April 18 or Sunday, April 19
10:30am

Background
Completed in 2023, the Akshardham temple complex spans 185 acres and displays a broad gamut of Hindu architectural styles, from the ancient to the modern. You will see thousands of carved figures adorning several dozen buildings and the intricate designs of the two temples on the grounds.
You will learn the fascinating story of Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781–1830), a 19th-century spiritual reformer revered as Supreme God, for whom this complex is dedicated. As you leave your car, you will see the immense, 49 foot bronze statue of Swaminayaran, which overlooks a large plaza with plaques of his teachings and a 5 acre reflecting pool.

On the tour, you will witness one religious ceremony and learn the fascinating stories of Swaminayaran's pilgrimage and the all-volunteer work that built this magnificent complex.

The Tour
Tours will begin promptly at 10:30am to enable attendance at a timed ceremony in a nearby temple. The tour will include:

-An orientation movie at the Welcome Center
-The Ari ceremony in the Traditional Mandir temple (20 minutes)
-A walk throughout the grounds (1 hour 15 minutes)
-A video depicting the "Making of the Akshardham"
-Optional lunch and shopping

NOTE: The grounds tour will involve a great deal of walking across the huge campus. The final video and optional lunch at the beautiful cafeteria, with nearby food and gift shops, will be within the Welcome Center.
Arrangements

There is no cost for this event, but the volunteer-run Akshardham will accept voluntary, tax-deductible donations at the conclusion of the tour. We suggest $20+ for the member and optionally more for families or guests. The optional lunch and shopping are on your own.

Choice of dates:
Tours are run on both Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. You can choose a preferred date with an option to accept the other if your preferred date is at capacity.

Getting there: The map address is 100 North Main Street, Robbinsville, NJ 08561, off Exit 8 of the NJ Turnpike. Please allow 15 minutes for the walk from parking to the Welcome Center, which will take you past the statue, plaza, reflecting pool and many other features, so you should arrive early.

Dress Code: The Temple is a sacred place, so please dress modestly. See the website for guidance.
