Back Deck at the Morris Museum
Saturday, June 20, 2026, 7:30pm
Nat Adderley Jr. brings a lifetime of musical storytelling to the stage, blending jazz sophistication with soulful lyricism. Best known for his decades‑long work as music director and arranger for Luther Vandross, Adderley’s piano voice is warm, elegant, and deeply rooted in the blues and gospel traditions that shaped him. His quartet delivers a polished, intimate sound that feels tailor‑made for the Back Deck.
A member of one of jazz’s most storied families, Adderley carries forward the legacy of his father Nat Adderley Sr. and uncle Cannonball Adderley while carving out his own expressive path. His concerts are rich with melody, memory, and understated virtuosity — the kind of performance that draws listeners in and leaves them glowing long after the final chord.
