This is what I constantly tell people about small town Kansas when they ask me. The mindsets of a lot of individuals out there who have power, money and status frighten me to my very core. I've had my home towns police department turned on me in this manner for being vocal about local corruption. Thankfully, it looks as though things are slowly changing and people are getting fed up. Keep it up my Kansas friends! I know you can do it!

Dozens of news organizations on Sunday condemned a police raid on a Kansas newspaper and its publisher’s home, sending a letter to the local police department’s chief urging him to immediately return all seized materials.

I am going to be bringing this page back online in hopes of creating greater awareness of what our local politics and entities have been up to as of late. I have been getting a lot of reports that have been bordering on harassment and entrapment from many local residents. Many signs the local entities have become very money hungry. I want you to join my group and send in any interactions you have with any of our government offices or officials. Everything from paying your property taxes, registering your vehicles to getting pulled over for that supposed turn you didn't signal within 100ft of or just walking down the street. With spring here, I want any elderly folks being harassed over weed/mowing ordinances to report your experiences. The only way we will reign in our local entities is to do it ourselves and put in the work to do so. I'm prepared to lay the ground work and get everything started. Are you prepared to do your job as a citizen and prevent overreach and harassment? We will see. Good luck to you all.

ok, i have brought this page back from the dead and the first topic i want to start with is the high rent/low quality housing issue within SW Kansas. I just looked at a "house" (if you want to call it that) that was a 1 bedroom, very tiny and very well worn out. They wanted over $400/month with a $400 deposit. This, in my opinion is a bit too much. A lot too much actually. I have 3 houses that are 3 bedroom each, in "decent" shape and the most we have EVER charged is $475/month and we run 6 month leases. So, to kick this off, i want people to share experiences, pictures, landlord info, everything on anything you consider to be a "slum" in SW Kansas. Maybe if we oust these cruddy land lords, things will start to change.

Hello folks! I know its been a while since we have updated this page but yes we are still around! I am working on a few things at this moment that should be on the page shortly. We have been fairly active recently on some cases that cannot be talked about publicly due to the ages of the persons reporting to us but as soon as we get clearance from their guardians and the judge working on the case we will be sure to post it! Other than that the biggest thing so far is the city of Liberals elections being supervised by the justice department. We are also trying our hardest to make the city and the county do a financial audit but so far we are getting nowhere and NEED COMMUNITY SUPPORT for this project. If we can get them to audit we can see how this money could be better used, mainly for growing the towns' economy and bringing us up to par with all of the other cities who's economy has absolutely EXPLODED while our economy is worse off now than it was 10 years ago and it was pretty bad back then as well. I want the community to ask this question at the next city council meeting: "Why have the towns all around us been growing at an exponential rate while our economy has shrunk." We NEED manufacturing jobs or higher end retail jobs to survive. One more restaraunt is not going to help when it only pays minimum wage. we need REAL jobs, not jobs for school kids!

We are a consumer and civil watchdog group for the Southwest Kansas area. Our job focuses on everything from exposing shady mechanics, restaraunts and contractors to filming and exposing police corruption, k-9 false alerts, civil and constitutional violations and private property speed traps as well as local government spending.

Liberal city ordinance No. 4401. This has got to be the most important issue we have handled so far. What this ordinance does is limit the ammount of garage/yard sales a person can have, per year, on their property to 4 per year and requires such persons to acquire a "permit" for their sale that will be recorded into some sort of database and be tracked to make sure you havent exceeded your "limit.

I have seen this town do many outright dumb and idiotic things but this one tops the cake, mainly because it shows the sheer laziness of our city officials. We already have laws on the books about running a business out of your own home and all it takes to enforce these laws is a bit of common sense. Ya, obviously if you show up at a yard sale and find new, unused products all over the place then ya, it's obvious a business is being run, so use your common sense and enforce the existing law and write the ticket. DONT come up with an entirely new ordinance limiting EVERYBODY on their yard sales. I know people from 7 different states that take the trip to Liberal and other small communities JUST FOR our garage sales.

There is also a huge Private Property issue with this ordinance as well. It is one thing for a person to sell new items and run a yard sale like a business, that is wrong and shouldnt be tolerated but on the flip side of this is that not all people conducting a yard sale are running a business. they are simply selling excess junk and if they own the property the yard sale is on then it shouldn't matter how many that they have per year and if the Ctiy of Liberal wants an innocent yard sale shut down, then make them go through the hassle of getting a warrant but, most importantly, grab your CAMERA and film the entire encounter. tell them to leave, get it on camera, film it film it film it!
