Hey everyone!!! (farewell)
Tonight was the final meeting of the semester/election for next year's executive board for the Pro-Life Wildcats!!! Our new team will consist of
President: Samantha Schultz (who I cannot tag so I will ask to tag herself in the comments)
Vice President: (Charlie) Charlotte Hauck
Secretary/Treasurer: Tyler Hall
March for Life Coordinator: TBD
This is a very strong team that will have a lot to jump into right off the bat once the next school begins so I hope all of you will support them, participate with them, and will provide whatever help and resources you can. The March for Life coordinator position still needs to be filled, so if you would like to join an amazing team where you will not just plan one of the biggest events of the year but will have a say in all club events, please consider reaching out!
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve, first as Vice President, and then this year as President, of this club. Some of you know this, some of you do not, but I did not anticipate or plan on becoming President of our organization. As a JD/MHA student here at UK I was already stretched pretty thin between course work, graduate school clubs, and my involvement at Church, so when I started attending the meetings my 2L year (3rd year of grad school between the two degrees) I thought it would just be a good way to occasionally participate in a cause I believed in. When a vacancy on the board occurred our amazing previous President, Sophia Decker, asked me to step into the role of VP. I did what I could to keep up with her amazing vision for the group, and then the rest was history.
This was a difficult year for a great many reasons. We planned a lot of big events, some of which didn't go as we hoped, some went amazingly, and some of which have had to be rescheduled for this upcoming fall. We faced challenges from the University and other sources, but came out stronger at the end of it all and grew our group's presence and involvement in our campus community. We have reached the point where we are hopefully making a big difference in our campus community and I can't wait to see how this takes shape in the future.
This roll has been one of the biggest surprises of my time here in grad school. As I leave it is with a heavy heart that I won't see so many of you again, but also with hope for the future for all of you, for the club, for our country, and most importantly for the unborn.
Thank you for this amazing opportunity and for an amazing year. To all the students, good luck on the rest of your semesters, good luck on your finals, and good luck on your summer experiences. To all those who will be graduating but sticking around for graduate school, please consider being involved in the club. The PLW need graduate and undergraduate students alike to make the biggest difference possible.
Please take care of yourselves during this difficult time and continue to care for those around you. Let us always live out the true meaning of being Pro-Life.
Good Luck and God Bless!
Brenton Craggs
President Pro-Life Wildcats 2019-2020.
