WE ARE BLOWN AWAY! And you know what? You’ve all been SO kind, and SO patient, and SO enthusiastic, and SO brave in that weather today, that we’re all going to have another day of native plant sale as a little treat!

We’ll be at 7 Harrington Road in Lexington from 1-4pm with the native plants of your dreams! No sign-ups, JUST show-ups! 🤗 “I think I have enough plants” SAID NO GARDENER EVER 🌱 seriously, you all were incredible today, native plant people cannot be stopped! You were all so joyous and courteous and we all had a ball. Let’s do it again on tomorrow!

We buy native plants to be part of the ecosystem! That means they provide habitat and food to insects and other wildlife, supporting a healthy balance. Saw fly galls won’t hurt the tree, and other organisms will eat the saw flies. Insects need us right now, let’s welcome them into our yards and gardens!

Put it in the comments, what did you see while pulling garlic mustard this spring??

One thing I really welcome about pulling garlic mustard and a lot of other invasives is the time I have to spend on my hands and knees in my yard, face inches from the ground. There’s so much I notice and learn and grow a deeper understanding for, I truly consider it time well spent. The Jack-in-the-Pulpit was a particularly wonderful surprise, the rogue tulip made me laugh, and the little faces of insects and arthropods fill me with joy, even when the scent of garlic mustard is heavy on the air.

The dreaded garlic mustard has started to go to seed in my area. I pulled as much as I could wherever I could find it, now I’ll pull the small rosettes and hope I made a big dent that will make a difference next year. Every time I remove invasives I find something wonderful growing and I’m grateful!

I can’t wait to do this tonight with the experts! It’s one of my favorite parts of the plant sale, i love how our volunteers and customers protect themselves from the sun and look AMAZING doing it ☀️
