🌸April🌸 Field Notes:
1. The gardens around our historic office are in bloom! It’s been so nice opening the old windows and letting the fresh Spring air in. Stop by and see us in downtown Lexington!
2. Sunrise over gorgeous farmland in Augusta County.
3. We sponsored the annual Women in Ag event this year which was held in Stanley, VA this year. We met so many wonderful female farmers and landowners all over the state!
4. Our Conservation Programs Administrator, Marleigh, made a new friend! 🐍
5-7. Bridget and Marleigh attended the 2026 Virginia Land Conservation and Greenways conference in Newport News with this year’s theme focused on Adaptation! As a special field trip, they visited Machicomoco State Park on a tour of the expansive grounds and interpretive exhibits.

Thank you Cresthaven Farms for trusting us to help you protect your beautiful farm and family legacy forever!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 As farmers, we have a strong connection to the land. For some of us that connection goes back centuries; and we desire to pass it on to the next generations, if the good LORD wills.

In an effort to preserve and protect our family farm land, we recently placed it in a conservation easement. This means that it cannot be used or sold for development purposes, but may only be used for the purpose of providing people with food and for the enjoyment of nature.

It is our prayer that this land may continue to bless and provide for people, and that we may continue to steward it faithfully. 🌱 🐄 🙏

A big thank you to Bridget Braunscheidel and Conservation Partners, and Land Trust Of Virginia.

ATTN: Virginia Farmers
If you are a Virginia farmer and your farm sustained damage as a result of the winter storm on Jan. 24-26, 2026, or during this weekend’s storm, please report your farm storm damage to your local Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) office. Use this link to find your local VCE office - https://ext.vt.edu/offices.html.
We are working with local and federal partners to assess the severity of agricultural winter storm damage across the state, particularly in the Shenandoah Valley. Your information could help coordinate recovery assistance.
