MISSING LOCAL CHILD

MISSING PERSON INVESTIGATION-The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for a missing 12-year-old female juvenile. The missing person’s name is Zayona Yort, Hispanic female, 4 feet 11 inches in height and weight is 85 pounds. Yort will have black hair and brown eyes. Yort was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans with Croc shoes. She was last seen on April 8, 2026, at 2:30 a.m., at a residence on New Jersey Church Road, Lexington, North Carolina. A missing person report was filed with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office today at approximately 11:00 a.m. Please contact the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office with any information to help locate Yont.

As a result of significant winter weather and a monumental snow event for our school community this weekend, Davidson County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 2 for students and staff. Tomorrow will NOT be a remote learning day. All extracurricular activities are cancelled. 12 month employees please reach out to your immediate supervisor for more information. We are closely monitoring conditions and will communicate as soon as possible when additional decisions are made regarding the coming days. Thank you, be safe, and have fun in the snow!
