What a wonderful two weeks of ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in Yucca Valley, California!

It was such a joy to be with this church family and to experience their warmth, encouragement, and love for God’s Word. I had the privilege of sharing four messages from the life of David, and we saw the Lord work in some very special ways.

We leave California with full hearts—grateful for new friendships, sweet fellowship, and the privilege of serving Christ together.

God has been so good, and we give Him all the glory!

Debbie, William, and I returned late last night from an incredible time ministering to pastors and their wives in Belize. Over four days, we had the privilege of providing around 17 hours of marriage and biblical counseling training to about 25 pastors, wives, and church leaders. We were grateful to partner with Para Ministries and thankful for the invitation from Jesse McBride and his wife Kaila to serve these pastors and their wives. The hunger to learn and grow was evident in every session, with meaningful questions—especially around difficult issues like abuse, divorce, and remarriage. Our translator, William Sanchez, was a tremendous blessing, serving with clarity and a true pastoral heart of care for those we were ministering to.
One pastor shared how God convicted him to lead his wife more faithfully in the Word and prayer, while another expressed a desire to better listen and respond to his wife with empathy and love. One leader's wife pulled Debbie aside and explained how utterly grateful she was already for the change in how her husband was treating her. He had walked up behind her and hugged her just because he wanted her to feel valued and loved. Many pastors shared that they are eager to take these truths back to their churches. Pastor Carlos told us this training was an answer to prayers they’ve been praying for years. We are so grateful for this opportunity and for those who partner with us—your prayers and support make ministry like this possible!

We are so thankful for a wonderful weekend hosting a men’s and women’s conference at Bible Baptist Church in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. For over 25 years, we’ve had the privilege of ministering alongside BBC, and we are deeply grateful for their faithful monthly support—both financially and through prayer. God is so good!

We’re at the Vancouver, BC airport, preparing to fly home after three wonderful weeks of ministry in Oneida, TN; Bremerton, WA; and here in Vancouver. Our hearts are full as we reflect on how God moved in each service and touched so many lives. We’re especially grateful for the 80 couples from six Vancouver-area churches who participated in the marriage conference. God has been so good to us!

What you're looking for in the ocean, what you're looking for in the horse, what you're looking for in the music, what you're looking for in the beautiful face … We need beauty in order to settle ourselves down. We need beauty to be satisfied, to experience pleasure, and to deal with the restlessness and the churn inside ourselves, but only God's beauty will do it.

S*x is like a river running between the High banks of righteousness. Without banks, a river overflows everywhere and creates havoc. It also gets muddy and shallow. That's what happens to s*x without the restraints of God. But when the river runs between the banks of biblical truth, it runs deep, and it runs pure. Those who give themselves away outside marriage forfeit a depth of pleasure that only those know who wait for the Lord. John Piper

The modern quest for authenticity has become twisted into a quest to have our will and our emotions in sync. This faux authenticity is just a fancy version of the sixties slogan, “If it feels good, do it.” So the celebration of being “true to yourself” means acting on your feelings. “I’m not in love with my spouse anymore, so I’m going to leave.” This oft-repeated formula, the logic behind many broken covenants, equates love with feeling happy. The result? We are dominated by the tyranny of our ever-changing feelings. We don’t endure…. True authenticity, when I’m obeying in spite of my emotions, always makes me feel dislocated. My feelings say “drop out,” but my commitment says “hang in there.” If I hang in there, eventually my feelings will right themselves and will catch up with my obedience. A Loving Life- Paul Miller

God’s Hesed love is the opposite of the spirit of our age, which says we have to act on our feelings. Hesed says, “No, you act on your commitments. The feelings will follow.” Love like this is unbalanced, uneven. There is nothing fair about this kind of love. But commitment-love lies at the heart of Christianity. It is Jesus’s love for us at the cross, and it is to be our love for one another. When feelings are the standard, we are left adrift on a turbulent sea. Every good feeling becomes a new path, so we become good at starting to love, but bad at finishing. Soon we are lost and alone in a maze of relationships. Paul Miller (A Loving Life)

So thankful for an awesome weekend ministering at Hilltop Baptist (Pastor Clint Scott) in Green River Wyoming. Twenty couples attended the marriage conference yesterday, and God really moved in our service this morning. After preaching on marriage, 25 couples rededicated their marriages to God and renewed their vows. The Spirit of God is mightily moving through conviction and repentance in this church as they have grown over 100 in attendance over the last 6 months.
