Brody has responsibilities around the house. Not because he “has to prove anything,” but because it gives him something just as important: belonging and worth.
Yesterday we cleaned the critters, watered all the plants, and power washed the back deck. He was absolutely wiped out after, but he did it.
And that’s the point.
He is capable. He is included. And he contributes even if it looks different than someone else’s version.
Different doesn’t mean less. It means adapted.
