All the details that I know as of now…Please keep praying 💔

The intestinal team consulted with the liver doctors about Ella’s ultrasound results… The results read that Ella’s liver was enlarged which I wasn’t concerned about at all but then it continued to say that the liver had increased hepatic echogenicity with a diffuse parenchymal process which is disease of the functional tissue of the liver …and not just a part of the liver it was the entire liver …my heart sank.. The liver doctor who read the results with Ella’s motility team said this is what they see with patients who were on TPN (IV nutrition) for a long time as you know Ella was TPN dependent for 8 years…I knew it could affect the liver but I was hopeful it wouldn’t happen to Ella …

So what do we do with the liver… Nothing… we know it’s there… we watch it and we always make sure that Ella’s liver numbers are stable… and if they ever become unstable we will cross that path at that time…

The not so good news… The stomach pain, the nausea, the vomiting of bile…We need to meet with the surgery team…The only way to see what’s going on with the bowel is to go in surgically… The only way to see If scar tissue from her last 2 surgeries has wrapped around any surrounding organs is to go in surgically…Her surgeon has done every single surgery that she’s ever had… So all the bowel work is his work…so he knows how it should look in there…I don’t want this for her… hasn’t she gone through enough?… I’m sad, I’m angry, I just want everything to be ok…Another surgery was not what we wanted….We won’t see the surgeon until next week after she has all her cardiology testing…If Ella gets worse before we see her surgeon we were told to go right to the ER…

Thank you for always lifting us and carrying us through the times that we need you the most… Please keep praying for our Ella girl 💜

Update for Thursday 1/29
Today was tough. Pryce did really well, and was feeling pretty good; but Ben & I had some hard talks with the team.
Everything Pryce has been going through has been side effects from cancer treatments - not the cancer itself. Unfortunately, we can’t ignore the fact that the cancer could be hindering him from healing and that even if he does heal eventually from his current problem, the cancer will be too widespread to even treat.
Today, we started Pryce on his last available treatment for the bleeding. It’s a more potent version of the clotting drug he was on previously. They are giving it to him intravenously, topically, and flushing it into one of his kidney drains. It’s definitely not a sure thing, but it is the last thing they will try. There is nothing else after this. Surgery is too risky and there are no other drugs that would help. If this doesn’t stop the bleeding, they will move from treatment to comfort care.

Prayer Requests:
- Praise that Pryce still feels pretty good.
- Praise that the kids will get to come visit this weekend.
- Continue praying for Pryce’s bleeding to stop & for his complete healing.
Thanks!!!💛💜💛

We’ve spent 7½ hours here over the last two days in just appointments for Adam and Blake. After 3 appointments yesterday for Blake, this is the last place we wanted to see today, just hours after leaving. Please remember us in your prayers, especially Blake. ♥️

He’s been experiencing some edema that we’ve been treating with his Lasix but the swelling is no longer responding to the current dose. He has a dry, hacking cough that has progressively gotten worse over time, emesis and is slightly dehydrated (likely contributed from him fasting for 6 hours prior to his abdominal ultrasound yesterday). Additionally, his O2 SAT was dipping in mid 80’s to low 90’s occasionally while being monitored at home. Each time he would quickly recover and would return to the high 90’s without the need for oxygen.

Some of his lab values from yesterday (Tuesday), were slightly or significantly higher than his previous labs from last Tuesday. As a result, we felt it was best to have him checked out.

The team ordered a chest x-ray since they heard some crackling from his left lung, they completed that along with urine labs (fortunately blood labs were just completed yesterday so he didn’t have to repeat those 🙌🏻) and a pathogen panel swab. Additionally, they did deep suctioning to help clear secretions and started him on oxygen at 1L since he’s had multiple desats here in the ED.

They’re admitting him for observation due to the edema, desats requiring oxygen and due to some concern with several of his kidney numbers. We’ve been here since midnight so we’re hoping a room comes available soon.

Some test results are back and fortunately, his respiratory panel swab showed no detection of Covid, flu, RSV, etc. 🙌🏻 Please help us pray it stays that way, the last thing we need is for any sickness to occur prior to transplant.

His urine labs showed he’s losing Chloride so they’re trying to figure that out as well. He’s also losing protein in his urine, however, his team is aware as that’s pre-existing to today’s visit.

We’re still waiting to hear results of the chest scan but I’ll share once we have those results back. Fortunately, the admitting attendee said he sounds clear enough to rule out pulmonary edema. 🙌🏻

Please pray for a restful night/morning, we’re all exhausted and sleep deprived. I’m personally running on a combined total of 7 hours of sleep over the last 3 nights. Fortunately, Blake is currently resting (thanks to his Clonidine) and Adam is currently head nodding and bobbing while doing his best to try and stay awake until they get us a room.

Please help us pray for answers, no illnesses picked up during his stay and for Blake to feel better. I’ll update again once we have more information. ♥️
