As AFWA, we want to build the largest nationwide network of women in accounting and finance. Because a network is more than about making connections for your next career move. Through empowered networks, women can share experiences, connect with career mentors, learn from eachother, and establish friendships who will share in the highs and lows of being a working woman.
Throughout their careers, women in this field will face a unique set of challenges. The supportive women behind them will make all the difference in how they face those challenges and move ahead. Through AFWA, we believe women can connect with eachother to advance in their careers and ultimately become leaders in their industry.
How is AFWA different than other professional organizations?
AFWA members range from students and young professionals to experienced career women and retirees. Our members work in public accounting, government, non-profit, and corporate accounting, they are CPAs, EAs, CMAs, CFPs, and more. And many of our members are just beginning their studies for advanced certifications.
AFWA members can view a clear path to leadership. Members can become involved in their local chapters, on National Committees, or with The Foundation of AFWA. If they aspire to increase leadership potential, AFWA makes that possible.
In addition to professional continuing education presentations, you’ll find wine tastings, golf lessons, and painting sessions. Because we believe networking should be fun! And when you unwind in a casual non-intimidating setting, you can connect beyond “who do you work for?” and “what do you do?”
