❤️ 10 Prosthetic Limbs. 10 New Beginnings. One Beautiful Journey of Giving. ❤️
A few months ago, Sarasa Natya Academy by Preethi Ramesh , under the guidance of Preethi Ramesh, celebrated its Annual Day 2026 with a special purpose.
For the first time, the proceeds from the Annual Day were donated to Yaadhum, with the hope that the celebration of art could also become an opportunity to serve someone in need.
Today, we are extremely happy to share what that collective effort has accomplished. 🙏
With the funds raised through the Annual Day, Yaadhum and Sarasa Natya Academy were able to provide 10 prosthetic limbs to 10 people affected by leprosy at Gremaltes Hospital, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai.
People affected by leprosy often face challenges even after treatment. Some lose mobility or limbs, making simple everyday activities, work, and independent living difficult.
A prosthetic limb can make a real difference. It can help them move more independently, return to daily activities, depend less on others, and most importantly, live with greater confidence and dignity.
All 10 prosthetic limbs were custom-made by Mohana Orthotics and Prosthetics Center, who supported this initiative by providing them at a significantly discounted cost.
🙏 This would not have been possible without many helping hands.
Our heartfelt thanks to Preethi Ramesh for joining hands with Yaadhum and making the Sarasa Natya Academy Annual Day a platform not only for celebrating Bharatanatyam, but also for giving back to the community.
A very special thank you to all the parents and families of Sarasa Natya Academy who attended the Annual Day, supported the event, and generously contributed.
Our sincere thanks to Arun from Gremaltes Hospital (https://gremaltes.in/) for his support and coordination, and to Dr. Deepa Muthukumar ( https://www.facebook.com/deepa.muthukumar.5 ) for helping us identify the right resources and making this initiative possible.
A special appreciation to Thilaka Ramesh, who had carried this dream for a long time. She worked behind the scenes throughout the process, coordinating the effort, identifying the right beneficiaries and resources.
And finally, a huge thank you to the entire Yaadhum team ( Ramesh Kumar Radhakrishnan, Tamil Selvi Viswanathan , Kumaran, Nanda Kumar N Shanmugam , Arthilakshmi Kumaran , Ganesh , Lavanya Selvaraj, Kavitha Partha Sarathy and Hema Sankaran ( from SNA ) who contributed their time, ideas, effort, and support to turn an intention into something meaningful.
This is exactly what Yaadhum hopes to represent - bringing people together through community, culture, service, and compassion.
This is only a beginning.
Let us continue to join hands, work together, and serve many more people through Yaadhum.
Together, we can do a lot more for our community and for those who need us the most. 🙏❤️
