The FY28 (2027/28 school year) budget summit is kicking off THIS WEDNESDAY 6/10 at 7pm! We need residents and educators to attend this hybrid summit to let the town know we are in full support of keeping our schools funded to prevent further layoffs. Link in comments ‼️

Levy? No, not that Levy! 💵
The levy limit can be increased annually as long as it stays below the levy ceiling. Permanent increases occur through an automatic 2.5 percent annual adjustment calculated by the Department of Revenue, the addition of approved new growth in the tax base, or successful override votes.

Let's talk appropriation! In Lexington, there is an Appropriation Committee that is responsible for providing guidance on the town's financial management. The committee evaluates the Select Board's proposed budget and issues a report with recommendations on fund appropriations and other municipal issues before every Annual Town Meeting. 💸
