**Even a Thunderstorm Couldn’t Stop Us!**

We had a wonderful meeting tonight despite a thunderstorm! Several members joined us virtually, and we even came up with a plan to make our hybrid meetings better. Our President has tons of experience in media, so we’re expecting to see a moving camera in the near future! 😉

This is a learning process—and we’re learning together 😊

Tonight’s theme was “Influence Without Authority,” and our Word of the Day was “Kinetic”—perfectly in line with the stormy weather! ⚡

Our Toastmaster of the Day, Donna, kept the "Kinetic" energy moving throughout the meeting and influenced us to stay engaged from beginning to end.

We also welcomed a guest who is a senior college student majoring in finance and was brave enough to jump right into TableTopics! We’re always excited to see new faces and hear what brings people to Lexington Toastmasters!

The meeting ended with Keith, our President, bringing us some exciting news!

This was the only photo we managed to take from this week's meeting—which can only mean one thing: we had another fantastic meeting! (😄 because Sooksai was too busy laughing and fully engaged in the speeches to remember to take more pictures!)

Even with several members away on vacation, we enjoyed two outstanding Icebreaker speeches from our newest members.

**Christina** shared a story from her childhood about mandatory school running—something she once disliked but later transformed into a lifelong lesson in perseverance and growth that ultimately helped her earn an Executive Director position.

**Andrei** took us back to when he was 17, working in a factory in his home country. He shared the hilarious yet meaningful story of how he handled discovering that members of the executive team were stealing from the factory. It was full of humor and ended with a powerful lesson.

The photo captures **Emily** delivering a Table Topics® response—one of our favorite meeting activities, where members practice thinking on their feet by giving impromptu speeches.

Want to become a more confident communicator and public speaker? Come visit us as a guest any Tuesday evening! You'll find a diverse group of supportive people who encourage one another to grow, one speech at a time.

Lexington Toastmasters: A friendly place to practice. A powerful place to grow.

We had another great meeting this evening at Lexington Toastmasters! Every meeting is another opportunity to learn, challenge ourselves, and grow together.

Our theme for the night was "Command the Room."

Sooksai's speech, "15 Cents," shared a touching childhood memory and the lifelong lesson she has carried with her ever since. Donna's speech, "Leadership from Every Seat," reminded us that great leadership doesn't come from a title—it comes from our actions. Diana captivated us with a powerful speech and an unforgettable hook, reminding us of the qualities that make a truly great mentor.

During Table Topics, one of our guests bravely answered the question: How would you command the room without saying a single word when you walk into a room where you know no one? Keith shared his thoughts on whether a generous leader or a strict leader is more effective at commanding the room, and Qi spoke about how she would command the room if she were about to give the most important presentation of her life.

Interested in becoming a more confident speaker, communicator, and leader? Join us every Tuesday for an evening of learning, laughter, encouragement, and personal growth. We'd love to welcome you!

Another **full-house meeting** this week! 🎉 Even with a few members unable to attend, we had a packed room, welcomed two wonderful guests, and one even jumped right into Table Topics—talk about courage! 👏

You may notice there aren't many photos from this week's meeting... 😅 That's because our photographer got called up for a Table Topics question and then spent the rest of the evening laughing and giving some unofficial evaluations for the prepared speeches.

Our meeting came together quickly, with members eagerly stepping into their roles:
🎤 **Table Topics Master:** Shobana
🎙️ **Toastmaster of the Day:** Sooksai
📝 **General Evaluator:** Dr. Chee
📚 **Ah-Counter & Grammarian:** Diana
⏱️ **Timer:** Qi

Congratulations to our award winners! 🏆

✨ **Best Prepared Speech:** Keith, who delivered an impromptu speech upon the request of a fellow Toastmaster, 5 minutes before the meeting! He shared with us about his mentor—the person who has been his "North Star", both professionally and personally.

✨ **Best Table Topics:** Qi, who transported us to a romantic Italian vacation... with a group of people! 🇮🇹

✨ **Best Evaluator:** Donna, who stepped in at the last minute due to a mix-up on the sign-up sheet and delivered an outstanding impromptu evaluation. Amazing job!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another evening filled with laughter, inspiration, and growth 💙

We can't wait to see you at our next meeting!

Another full house at Lexington Toastmasters last night!

Our "Breaking the Fear Barrier" meeting was filled with laughter, learning, and inspiration from members, new members (Andrew and Camille), and three wonderful guests.

A special highlight - we officially welcomed our youngest member! After attending a few meetings with her mom, Camille decided to join because, in her words, we make public speaking FUN!

The evening featured outstanding speeches:

- Dr. Chee shared four communication styles.
- Diana, an HR expert, explained why the first 3 seconds matter and demonstrated three handshakes to avoid.
- Leslie inspired us with her speech, "Hard vs. Easy" Leadership.

Congratulations to our winners:
🏆 Table Topics: Jenny (guest)
🏆 Best Speaker: Leslie
🏆 Best Evaluator: Dr. Chee

We can't wait to do it all again next Tuesday.
Come see why so many people are discovering that public speaking can be fun!

🎉 What an incredible evening celebrating our **Select Distinguished Club Award**! 🏆

Our meeting room was filled with familiar faces and new friends, including our members, new members, district leaders, and wonderful guests from our neighboring **Midway Toastmasters** club. Your presence made this celebration truly special.

A special thank you to our guest speaker, **Cindy Laatsch, DTM, Regional Advisor**, for delivering an inspiring speech that encouraged us to continue growing as communicators, mentors, and leaders. Your message will stay with us as we begin another exciting Toastmasters year.

We are also deeply grateful to all of the district officers and guests who joined us to celebrate this milestone. Your encouragement and support mean so much to our club.

And, of course, the potluck was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who brought delicious food and drinks to share. There was something for everyone to enjoy—but if there had been an official vote, **Shobana's Idly and Sambar** would have been the crowd favorite! 👍

Here's to another year of learning, leadership, friendship, and continued success. See you at our next meeting! 🎙️✨

This week may have been a smaller gathering, but it was packed with inspiration, learning, and laughter!

👏 Shobana delivered an outstanding repeat speech on President Lincoln, showing the value of refining and strengthening a great presentation.

💍 Dr. Chee shared the secret behind 36 years of marriage, reminding us that a healthy marriage can be built through JOY (Join in understanding, Offer love, and Yield in the same faith).

🎉 And a warm welcome to our guest, Andrew! We were impressed by his courage to jump right into our TableTopics session on the theme "Mentorship Matters." It takes confidence to speak impromptu in front of strangers, and he did just that!

At Lexington Toastmasters, every meeting is an opportunity to grow—whether you're giving a speech, sharing your story, or simply taking that first brave step.

Join us as our guest next Tuesday! 🌟🎙️ We'd love to see you there!
