On this second week of school, it’s time to prepare for all the fun in-school activities, field trips and other student-facing opportunities that may come around this school year. Every potential volunteer needs to have an up-to-date VOLUNTEER APPLICATION on file with the district in order to be involved with students in any way. 🛑🚌 Be prepared when school buses hit the road next week!

Students in Fayette County are heading back to the classroom next week! One important way to make sure our community has a safe start and a safe school year is to know the new law related to school bus safety.
KRS 189.370 changes what drivers do when they encounter a school bus or church bus with red flashing lights and an extended stop arm:
• Roads with more than two lanes, all traffic in all directions and lanes must stop.
• The only exception is when on a four-lane or more road with a raised or unpaved median, then traffic opposite to the extended stop arm may proceed.
Please take a look at the graphic and pay attention when traveling on our roads.

SCAPA Families,

As many of you may have heard, our beloved Mr. Beers suffered a stroke last week. We would love to shower him with some SCAPA Penguin love to help with his recovery.

What does it take to build a massive, broadway-style musical from scratch? 🎭

Ask the nearly 80 incredibly dedicated Fayette County Public Schools high school students who are spending their summer vacation inside the theater!

The FCPS Fine Arts Department is incredibly proud to present “Seussical” as our third annual summer musical production. Students from every corner of our district have come together as cast and crew for an intensive, three-week theatrical bootcamp to bring this spectacular show to life.

Bring the whole family out to support local youth arts and experience the magic.
