Ripple Fiber to Attend Annual Meeting

Our neighborhood received door hangers earlier this week announcing Ripple Fiber would begin digging to lay new lines in our neighborhood soon. This caused many to be concerned about digging up sprinklers, utility lines, etc., and our yards in general.

After many calls and going through online records, Ripple does have an Encroachment Permit from the county allowing them to dig 25 feet each way from the center of the road. According to county officials, Ripple indicates they plan to dig primarily 6-8 feet away from the curb. Ripple must call 8-1-1 for each area they are digging in before they start to have all utility lines marked. Should they strike something, it is on them to fix it. According to the county, each homeowner should mark the irrigation lines in their own yard if they use a sprinkler system.

Given the concerns and questions, the Board reached out to Ripple, and Danny Serrano, a Regional Rep. for Ripple, will be at the HoA meeting this Saturday (April 6) to offer more insight and talk with us. Please join us at 5:30 for pizza and the meeting at the cabana.

Mail Update -

I met with postal officials today and learned a few things.

- All mail comes from the Red Bank service center for our area.
- Their staff is down over 50% due to illness.
- They are unable to cover 40% of their routes at the moment.
- They are trying to deliver parcels and you may be able to pick those up (if not delivered) from their facility.
- You are NOT able to pick up letters at this time.
- They are requesting everyone’s patience and understanding as they are simply that short-staffed.

I know this is frustrating and please don’t shoot the messenger. I was equally as frustrated with the lack of any information prior to now and could not get anyone to answer the phone, so I went to the Post Office to ask.

I hope this at least answers some questions we’ve all had.

Thanks,
Chip Payne
