Thank you, EPA Deputy Administrator David Fotohui, for visiting western NC on the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene. NCRWA was honored to facilitate a round table discussion on the lasting impacts the storm has had on water and wastewater systems of all sizes and what work remains unfinished.
Outside of Helene recovery, the Deputy Administrator heard concerns regarding PFAS and lead line replacement, as well as how workforce challenges impact all of the issues utilities are up against. The conversation was productive, respectful, and appreciated.
