Our first pets of the month are finally here!

"I am a sucker for the disregarded and misfit; that’s how I found my way to each of my cats.

I saw Samus, flash across my page, shared by a friend who wanted to help her. She was eating dog food and constantly hiding from adult dogs. (Naturally she really doesn’t like dogs). She’s almost 7 years old, overly talkative and demanding, and is definitely the boss of the house.

Trooper, came a year after that. He’s blind, having to have major surgery when he was just 5 weeks old which required removing his eyes. This doesn’t stop him from getting around just fine and being the sweetest thing on 4 legs. Trooper is about to turn 6.

Speaking of legs, that’s where our latest addition struggles a bit. Umpire, was at the Lexington Humane Society by police officers who noticed his deformity and spent their lunches and breaks trying to catch him. He basically walks on his back ankles, his back feet very contorted at the joint. He’s rather shy but loves affection; turns 2 this year." -Todd, Redcoach

Our new board of directors have had a busy week getting set up to serve our community this year! The board has also appointed 4 Standing and 3 Ad Hoc committees! This is a reminder that Ashwood is holding a virtual member meeting next week on 9/15 at 7pm. Information on joining the meeting can be found below. The purpose of the meeting is for the Board to update members on their activities and serve as a forum for member questions and comments. We hope to see you at the meeting.

The Association's snow and ice vendor has been out to service the property several times throughout this spell of winter weather. They have been able to partially clear the parking lots, private street, and alley, but most of the sidewalks in the community still have a significant layer of ice on them. Because of the extended cold and repeated snow and freezing rain events, salt and icemelt treatments are not very effective on the sidewalks. As the weather warms back up they will come back to treat again and try to get sidewalks cleared. In the meantime, please use extreme caution if you have to walk outside.

Please also take precautions to prevent your pipes from freezing - keep your heat at 65 or higher, open cabinets to allow heat to reach pipes, and run a small drip of water.
