Yesterday we gave out seven We Care bags, 4 men and 3 women. I am seeing a lot of new people like these two older guys. They were so grateful. We talked a while and they are very kind. I know, the bags will not get them shelter, but I will settle for a smile and a "Hello" next time I see them on the street.

I carry the We Care bags with me in the truck. Almost every day when I go to Lexington I see someone I think would like a bag. Today I had the privilege of giving one to this man: alone, older, not much to carry. When he looked in the bag he said to me, "There is a God." That really moved me. Today we gave away 8 of our We Care bags, 2 to this grateful couple who are unhoused for the first time. The bags are accomplishing our intention. There are smiles, thank you's, and many God Bless You's.

This is Jonathon, a man I met at Lighthouse Ministries Wednesday. He has never been living on the street before and asked for some help so we gave him our first We Care bag!!! He was so excited and thankful. He actually said that life was really rough, but he was thinking of God a lot more and thought something good would come out of this.

In the We Care bag was: a nice flashlight, Off Bug Spray, soap, razors, toothbrush and paste, nail clippers, shampoo, hair brush, nice socks, deodorant, band aids, large wet ones, and a heavy rain poncho.

For the month of May we have a new mission to the homeless called We Care. When the emergency shelters closed hundreds of women and men found themselves living in the woods, a restroom, a car, a shed ... anywhere they could find. Through some partners in Lexington that we have (some connections) we hope to give away hundreds of bags in May that are filled with supplies. We will go where the people are, meet them, encourage them, and give each person a bag. Each bag will contain personal hygiene supplies and new socks, bug spray, and a flashlight. It will not fix anything, but it will communicate out message well. Have hope. People do care! We need many people to sponsor the bags. Each bag costs us $20. For $20 you can make the day a good one for a person whose hope is almost gone.

Connections garden is Growing. Sweet corn is up and 100 romaine lettuce growing. Produce is given to Free Meal Shelters and sober living houses. Love doing this.

What a great day! Man I needed this. It is one week after my surgery and my first time able to really interact with people on the street. We set up a table and gave away 27 nice rain hoodies, 25 real nice socks, and 4 tents in just 30 minutes. So good to see people smile. We are going to do this at least once a week from now on. The temporary shelter has closed so at least 200 more people sleeping outside. connectionslex.org Every donated dollar goes to the street.

What a great day at Goodwill Lexington. Hundreds of people, many Lexington helping agencies and miniseries. I met so many people and made "connections" as I gave out socks and rain ponchos. Program Day at Goodwill helps so many people. I was blessed to be invited. connectionslex.org
