It's Midlands Gives Day!
The need is great. The COVID-19 pandemic is taking a toll on everyone, including our region’s nonprofits. Canceled fundraisers, a decline in donations from corporations and individuals due to market jitters, the absence of volunteers, and increased demand are taxing nonprofits abilities to operate. Donations made through Midlands Gives will help our nonprofits overcome COVID–19.
Today will you please support Second Chance Music Ministries through the event Midlands gives or donate on Facebook? Simply click the donate button or go to MIDLANDSGIVES.ORG and where it says find your cause or find organization, type in, Second Chance Music Ministries then where you see the ministry click give. This will be a huge help!!
Do you have a loved one who is elderly and in an assisted living home or Senior Care Facility? Do you have a loved one in your family that has Alzheimer's or Dementia? Do you believe and have faith in Christ?
Do you have a child that goes to a large children's day care?
I am the founder and operator of Second Chance Music Ministries. Supporting Second Chance Music Ministries through donations supports Seniors in communities such as assisted living, nursing homes and those with Alzheimer's and Dementia as well as Children in day cares. Through your support, Second Chance Music Ministries brings live music into the facility while sharing the gospel with the residents. Gospel hymns are performed mostly in the Senior Communities and Children Bible songs in the day cares. During performances shakers are handed out as well as prizes to the best singer or shaker at the end of the performance then closed with a prayer. Second Chance Music Ministries usually does live performances which is scheduled on a monthly basis though out the year. Residents and children look forward to Second Chance each month coming to perform and to be encouraged. Music means so much to the staff and residents, especially live performances.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic(Corona Virus)The Governor of South Carolina issued an order to the Senior Adult Facilities such as nursing homes and child day cares to not allow anyone to enter the facilities other than necessary staff.
Since around March 10 2020 Second Chance Music Ministries has been unable to operate as normal due to the Corona Virus and the Governor's Order. The financial needs of the ministry are not being met.
This has been unfortunate for all of us.
If you are capable to give something during this time to support Second Chance Music Ministries please get on your phone or computer and simply go to MIDLANDSGIVES.ORG and where it says find your cause or find organization, type in, Second Chance Music Ministries and donate.
This will allow the ministry to continue to operate and when the governors order is lifted to be able to bring live music back to your loved ones. As of now Second Chance Music Ministries is working on other means to get live music to the residents and your support will also go towards this.
I have been with the ministry for 13yrs and I know how much Second Chance means to these people. Seniors with Alzheimer's and Dementia come alive when the music is performed, a frown on a face turns to a smile, people sitting next to each other hold hands, someone who doesn't normally talk sings every word to there favorite hymn, and at the end of the performance someone comes up to me and says(with tears in their eyes) “Thank you so much, I needed that”. This ministry I put my all into making sure every performance is heartfelt and brings glory to God as if I were sitting in that audience.
Thanks and God bless,
Will Parker
