The Lexington-Fayette County Social Services Needs Assessment Report of 2008 recognized the immediate problem of homelessness and concluded in its key finding: "There is a great need for ease of accessibility of the multitude of services available within our community." Further, it concluded that "Implementation of a one-stop model such as a "Neighborhood Place" concept was seen as a crucial step

in coordinating service between state and local governments and the other community services providers as well as unifying what services are offered and how". In an effort to help address chronic homelessness, New Life Day Center is meeting this need to bridge the gap between the homeless and the existing resources operating to serve them. We offer 3 main services: Out of the weather and off the street, Locker Storage, and a connecting point for local services. We also offer use of phone/internet services to our clients, Coffee and Donuts daily, and any one on one counseling we can provide to help the homeless better their situation.

Just wanted to formally let everyone know my last “official” day on site New Life Day Center of Lexington, Ky was today. It is bittersweet to leave as I have accepted a role with a statewide organization that also serves the homelessness/affordable housing cause.

I will still be helping out in less visible ways and coming back on-site periodically with my family to volunteer.

I have been at NLDC for four years and very much love the mission, staff, and clients of this vital organization.

I have been proud of what we have accomplished in this time and have seen God work many miracles of provision and protection in the lives of our clients, staff, and organization while there. I have only gratitude for my time working with and serving alongside of many wonderful people.

We have amazing volunteers, donors, and community partners. We are so blessed to be a part of the continuum of care in a city that does so much to support nonprofits in this vital work across the city.

I cannot wait to see what God has in store for the NLDC in its next chapter!

We are so grateful for this sweet lady!

She regularly drives from eastern Kentucky to bring NLDC much needed in-kind and other donations. She has been doing it faithfully for at least the past 5 years. 🗓️

She has a genuine heart for our clients and makes invisible yet high-impact contributions to our shelter. We couldn’t exist without dozens of valuable volunteers and donors just like her. ❤️

We love being able to share client success stories!

One female client who utilized case management assistance at New Life Day Center recently completed a recovery program at Recovery Works London and has graduated to a sober living program as a next step!

Congratulations on this milestone and we celebrate this accomplishment with you! 🎉🎉🎉
