Although a handful of our teams will play in the Kentucky American Cup, this past weekend wrapped up our 2026 Spring Youth season.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this a great season for our youngsters. Thank you to our sponsors at T-Mobile, Forcht Bank, Bank of the Bluegrass & Trust Co., Hamburg Financial Group, Leestown Coffee House, and Nostos Lost and Found App for their partnership. Thank you to our coaches who dedicated their time to instruct our youth.

And thank you to YOU, our parents, for showing up and promoting a fun learning environment. We are a volunteer-run organization, and none of this is possible without you.

📢IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE FALL 2026 SEASON📢

In alignment with Kentucky Youth Soccer Association, the official governing body for youth soccer, LYSA will shift its age group player formation cycle to run from Aug. 1 to July 31 (school year) starting with the 2026 fall season. Through the 2026 spring season, the age cycle has been Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 (birth year).

The change comes from US Youth Soccer, the national governing body for youth soccer. The change was made based on extensive review, critical feedback, data and expert input to better align players with their school-grade peers. US Youth Soccer and its associations believe that this age group player formation will be the most inclusive and help increase participation.

Some players who were slated to move up in age groups under the previous age formations will not move up this year. Specifically, children born August through December of a calendar year who were slated to move up would remain in their previous age group.

Despite the rainy conditions (hey, we made it through most of the spring without any of it!), we had a great tournament weekend for our older divisions.

Congratulations to our champions who will move on to regional play next weekend. For those teams whose seasons ended this weekend, we hope you had a wonderful season.

Also, the Masterson Station Park fields are closed Thursday, May 21 because of the recent rain.

With the season ending for some of our teams already and limited coaching availability, we’re going to cancel the final U8 skills clinic tonight and the U10 session for next week.

It’s been great getting to add more opportunities for kids who want to play and we definitely intend on continuing these sessions in the future.

All games at Masterson Station Park for the remainder of Saturday, May 16 have been canceled due to inclement weather.

For BRSL games at other locations, please check with the host league.

Summer is here, which means fall is just around the corner. And that means it's already time to make plans for the next soccer season.

Registration for the 2026 LYSA Youth Fall Season is now open at lysa.org/youthregistration.

A hard deadline on player registration will be enforced again this season to ensure rosters are set, uniforms are ordered in time and teams can practice before opening weekend on Aug. 22. Players who register after July 10 will be put on wait list but will not be guaranteed team placement. Fees increase with each registration window so don't delay!

Please note that LYSA will shift its age group player formation cycle to run from Aug. 1 to July 31 (school year) starting with the 2026 fall season in alignment with KYSA and US Youth Soccer. For more information, visit the registration link above.
