Kentucky Dream Coalition

Kentucky Dream Coalition KDC believes everyone should have the opportunity to go to college and better themselves.

Everyday we educate, advocate, and empower immigrant youth by serving as examples, spreading our knowledge & guiding them to be leaders. Kentucky Dream Coalition (KDC) was founded during a national convergence pushing for the DREAM Act in 2010. After the legislation failed by a close vote, KDC members came back from the nation's capital disappointed but with a fire to expand our advocacy work. KDC

is a youth-led community organization which builds leadership within Kentucky's immigrant community; advocating and fighting for immigrant rights'. KDC provides resources, guidance, and support to under-represented immigrant communities; dismantling walls that negates the community from being fully aware of their rights as workers, students, and parents. KDC helps to create change that will last for future generations of immigrants and solidifies the communities by collaborating to create intersectional and meaningful work.

The proposed rule by DHS has been open to public comment. Meaning that anyone can leave a comment as to how if this ruling were to pass would affect your life. If your not a DACA recipient but have family or friend that are this will impact you as well. In this ruling they are trying to make the work permit and the deferred act of deportation two different things. This would allow for thousand of work permits to be removed. Below the link is provided to leave a comment for the ruling ( a comment is generated but feel free to alter and make the comment your own). The time to act is now, you can make a difference through your phone. Please take a couple of minutes to submit your comment.

Lesly and Francisco are DACA recipients from Kentucky who were detained by Customs and Border Patrol agents. (CBP) agents unlawfully deported them despite having valid a DACA card and no detention or deportation order for either person. We have set up a GoFundMe page for Lesly and Francisco and have linked it. Please like and share!

Today the hard work of our friends, family, community and national organizers, and public servant allies led us to achieve a monumental victory! The U.S. House of Representatives has passed The Dream & Promise Act of 2021 AND The Farm Workforce Modernization Act!!! TWO legislations that WILL establish paths to citizenship or legal status for millions of undocumented immigrants. What's Next? The Bills will soon go to the U.S. Senate for a vote. Call Mitch McConnell (859- 224-8286) and Rand Paul (270-782-8303) to demand they support these legislations.

One of these for LPR:

🚨Attention DREAMERS & Allies🚨(PLEASE SHARE)
The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on The Dream and Promise Act of 2021 and the Farm Workforce Modernization Act this week! (More info available!) This bill will provide a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants. Call your US Representative and tell them to stand with immigrant youth, TPS holders, and farmworkers by supporting The Dream And Promise Act and Farm Workforce Modernization Act today! Call: 213-335-2333 (script below)

"Hello, my name is _____ and I am calling to ask the Representative to support the Dream and Promise Act and Farm Workforce Modernization Act. These important bills would create a pathway to citizenship for immigrant youth, TPS holders, and farmworkers. Both bills have been passed in the House with bipartisan support and would provide permanent relief to many immigrants who have lived and worked in our communities for many years. Congress and your office must pursue every possible avenue to deliver protections for immigrant communities without delay. Millions of undocumented immigrants live, work, and contribute to the United States every day, to you too. It is long overdue for Congress to formally recognize immigrants with citizenship, which is supported by an overwhelming number of Americans from all walks of life."
