Students of the American Chemical Society (University of Kentucky)

Students of the American Chemical Society (University of Kentucky) This is a small student organization devoted to a shared interest in chemistry. We are open to all UKY undergraduates who like chemistry, including non-majors!

The club meets one Wednesday evening a month in CP-137. SACS is a branch of a national organization for any students of any major interested in chemistry. By joining SACS, you are associating yourself with the American Chemical Society, the largest scientific society in the world and one of the oldest professional societies in the United States. SACS can provide you with many opportunities to serv

e your community, to engage socially with other people interested in chemistry and to learn about the amazing research projects professors are working on right here at UK. We encourage all of our members to join ACS, which involves only a small few of $24. All majors are welcome, not just chemistry! If you are interested in joining the UK chapter of SACS, simply come by our next meeting or contact one of our officers.

We have two opportunities for service hours coming up in the near future!

Monday, March 27th 2-5pm: Crawford Elementry School chemistry demonstrations
Wednesday, March 29th 3-7pm: Winburm Middle School science club demonstrations.

Both of these opportunities are pretty short notice but they would be a great way to get involved and get some good service hours, also if you would like to go but have no ride we can figure out carpooling!
