Thank you to everyone who came out to Greyline yesterday to adopt a tree from our giveaway! In three hours we distributed right around 300 trees for planting.
From pawpaws, persimmons, and serviceberries to oaks, hickories, and sassafras, the future of Lexington’s tree canopy sure is looking up!
Special thanks to Heather Wilson, David Trosclair, and Eric Millard from Lexington Urban County Government’s Urban Forestry department for volunteering their Saturday morning to join our event and help people select the best tree for their yard. Central Kentucky has some fantastic arborists and we are so grateful for the chances we have to collaborate toward a common goal of a healthy and long lasting tree canopy.
Thank you all of the wonderful volunteers who helped at the event or in the days leading up to it by picking up or unloading trees, helping at the giveaway, and even tabling for us mid-week. We are so grateful for the vibrant community that’s growing under, and along with, our shared tree canopy.
