News from the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series
JJ Torano of Wellington, FL, won the March Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month Award. This marks the second time he has won the award in 2026.
A talented junior rider, Torano competes in the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series East Conference. After securing the Hall of Fame’s Rider of the Month Award in January, Torano returned to the ribbons with multiple horses at Wellington International in March. He kicked off the month with second, sixth and eleventh place finishes in the $15,000 SJHOF 1.45m Junior Jumper Classic Sponsored by Karlswood at WEF 8, riding Quinci Quality, Coachella Z and Kochio Z, respectively. A week later, he bested the Classic’s field at WEF 9 with BP Swifty, earned fifth place with Kochio Z, and finished twelfth with Million Amour. He kept up his winning streak in the Classics at WEF 10 (riding Coachella Z) and WEF 11 (riding BP Swifty), as well as finishing third at WEF 10 riding Dora Du Valon, fourth at WEF 11 riding Million Amour, and ninth at WEF 11 riding Kochio Z.
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame conducts its Jumper Classic Series with classes at approximately 80 horse shows each year. The Series hosts classes for junior and amateur riders at both 1.40-1.45m and 1.30-1.35m in two Conferences – the East Conference and the West Conference. The Series culminates in Championship Finals for both divisions in the fall – the West Finals are held October 14-18 at the Temecula Valley Fall 3, and the East Finals are held November 25-29 at the Holiday & Horses CSI4* at Wellington International. The winners of the Finals all receive complimentary admission to the Hall of Fame’s annual Induction Ceremony and Awards Gala in Wellington in March, during which they are honored for their achievements.
Each month, the Series honors the one rider and one horse that earn the most points in Series competition that month. For year-end awards, the Series recognizes each conference’s Leading Rider and Leading Horse. Each year-end award winner receives an engraved Tiffany crystal trophy and complimentary admission to the Hall of Fame’s annual Induction Ceremony and Awards Gala in Wellington in March, during which they are honored for their achievements.
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame is sponsored by CMJ Sporthorse, Hampton Classic Horse Show, Kentucky Horse Park, Nilforushan Equisport Events, United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), and Wellington International.
