The Kentucky Horse Park Field Trip Fund is making equine education accessible to students across the Commonwealth! 🐴📚

This past school year, more than 5,000 Kentucky students visited the Park through the program—and even more are joining us this summer!

Since 2016, the Field Trip Fund has welcomed more than 35,000 Kentucky school children to experience the International Museum of the Horse, meet retired racehorse champions, discover breeds from around the world, and explore one of the world’s premier equine facilities.

Happy Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know Battle in the Saddle has a Kids’ Boot Race?!

Kids ages 12 and under can join in on this fun Battle in the Saddle tradition! There are two age divisions: ages 7–12 and ages 6 and under. Participants race to a pile of shoes, find their own boots, put them on, and race back to the finish line. The fastest to get their boots on and make it back wins!

First-place boy and girl in each division receive awards, and every participant gets a prize!

Ready to race? Meet behind the announcer's stand at 6:30 PM to participate!

Another successful summer of Mustang Troop! ☀️

For more than 30 years, this special Kentucky Horse Park outreach program has provided youth from underserved communities with the opportunity to experience summer horse camp—free of charge. This summer, 21 students learned horsemanship, gained hands-on experience caring for horses, built confidence, and explored careers in the equine industry.

We’re proud to partner with local schools and help make these meaningful experiences possible!
