We are saddened to hear about Selma Dawahare Owens. Selma was integral to the success of our largest fundraisers since our inception. She was a pleasure to work with, from creative ideas for the plate to amazing support through the completion of every event.

Selma, rest well; you will be missed!

😔

Wendell Berry has passed. Another great light gone out. There are so many ways he influenced me but most of all what I keep thinking is that he was so good to me. Generous with his time and words. Complex. Brilliant. Revolutionary. Here’s my favorite picture of him. In his socks out on the porch at Port Royal, laughing and telling a tale, with a dog nearby. That one is Liz. My favorite thing Wendell ever said to me was when he introduced me to her. “This is Liz. I don’t like to be without her or my pocketknife.”

I’m sending big waves of love to Tanya and the entire Berry family, all of them so good, like him.

Fun and tasty joint event last night with Kentucky Bourbon Influencers making curated craft cocktail at Goodfellas Pizzeria - Distillery District. The first was an old fashioned, the second was a wh***ey sour, and the last was a Sazerac. Thank you to Stephanie Forman Salli Donovan Hinchman for the photos.

Many many thanks to Dave Bob and his staff for another wonderful experience at Town Branch last night. They never fail to take great care of our group and were as always incredibly gracious. Fantastic cocktails and delicious neat pours and even some barrel thieving where some of our members barreled their on bottles. Fun experience in a really pretty space. The weather was perfect for patio sipping and sharing pours from things we bought in the gift shop. Can’t wait to do it again!
