Cats Unlimited Our primary mission is to offer a low cost Spay and Neuter Program to our citizen

Cats Unlimited is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to the non-lethal control of cats in Rockbridge County and the Cities of Buena Vista and Lexington. Together we can provide our community with a non-lethal approach to resolving the overpopulation problem with cats and kittens that plague our local shelter and residents. We can educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering and how this will reduce the number of cats and kittens that will die in our local shelter every year. We can also make sure that every cat and kitten that we come in contact with is spayed or neutered so that as a group we never add to the overpopulation problem. We intend to continue this work until every cat and kitten we can help is found a home and cared for.

Cruelty to cats must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. A strong penalty reflects the severity of the crime, delivers justice for the victim, and sends a clear message that no act of animal cruelty will be tolerated.

Alley Cat Allies sent a letter of gratitude to the prosecutor's office responsible for the record sentence of Rodney Travis Jr. in Virginia: 15 years in prison for deadly cruelty to multiple cats.

More than that, we offered our assistance with future animal cruelty cases at no cost. We have done the same across the nation. Strong sentences like these should be the norm, not the exception, for the sake of cats' well-being and us all. The link between violence toward animals and violence toward humans is well established.
