Friends, we are excited to tell you about our next speaker, Linda Harvey, who will give her testimony on Saturday, October 3rd @ Christ the King Cathedral in Lexington. Linda will be celebrating her 85th birthday on October 3rd and will be telling her life story at the Magnificat Breakfast. She is a social worker, mediator, catalyst, and writer who has founded or co-founded about 60 organizations and groups in the community, parish, and Diocese of Lexington-primarily as a volunteer. All this was made possible by her husband, Stanford Harvey, Jr.-they were married for 55 years before she became a widow.
Her philosophy is “if you just reach out to one person in need, you can change the world.” Linda has been a social justice advocate who pioneered “Restorative Justice” that brings victims and offenders together for reconciliation.
Some of the organizations have been Birthright of Lexington, Christians in Community Service, Mediation Center of Kentucky, and Juvenile Restorative Justice. In later years, she has been involved in the Bereavement Ministry of Christ the King and presently is Co-Director of the Catholic Mental Health Ministry in the diocese. Linda is a charismatic Catholic who believes in healing prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit.
