MSL executive director Jeremy Franklin took part in the 2026 Governor’s Summit on Rural Prosperity, which was hosted by the Virginia Horse Center on October 14-15. On Wednesday, he participated in the “Welcome to Rockbridge” panel alongside colleagues from Main Street Buena Vista, the Chamber, the Tourism office, and Rockbridge County, with our state senator, Chris Head, serving as moderator. On Thursday morning, Gov. Abigail Spanberger addressed the summit, and then posed for this photo with government, community, and business leaders from across the county.

Thank you to the Virginia Rural Center and the Rockbridge County Office of Economic Development for including the local Main Street organizations in this initiative! Stay tuned for a blog post next week about the summit.

An early morning out here on Main to get a special detail installed for Line Dance Lex tonight- STRING LIGHTS! Huge thank you to John and Scott at Public Works for bringing the bucket truck (and their expertise) and helping the vision come to life.

We can’t wait to see everyone this evening!! Head downtown early to shop the End of Summer Sale and grab a bite to eat. Doors open at 6, and dancing starts at 7!

You can still purchase tickets online, or get them at the gate!
