On Tuesday, May 12, MSL welcomed dozens of Main Street leaders, economic development representatives, and Virginia Main Street staff to downtown Lexington for a semi-annual VMS Rev Up workshop. The event featured an excellent program coordinated by the Norfolk-based Retail Alliance about small business and retail support, reinforcing the value of a Main Street organization's role in the local economy.

Thanks to the Gin Hotel for hosting us, to Seasons Cafe & Bakery and Cupcake Heaven for delicious treats, and to Clover Boutique, Just Games Lexington, and Sugar Maple Trading Co. for participating in the retail assessment!

Last week we celebrated two ribbon cuttings downtown!

The newly renovated hosted their ribbon cutting after changing ownership this spring, and guests got to check out the new space, complete with a flower bar!

At .james , local representatives gathered to commemorate the completion of the first new fire suppression system made possible by the Lexington Economic Development Authority's loan program.
