LEXINGTON, Va. –The VMI men's and women's swimming and diving teams delivered a dominant showing Saturday afternoon at Goodall Pool, recording numerous event victories, personal bests and program records against Hampden-Sydney, Hollins and Sweet Briar.

This week, Jane and Buzz Birzenieks '64 hosted the annual Keydet Club Roundball Barbecue. Each year, the event offers an opportunity for the local community to get to know the VMI basketball team and share in the VMI spirit ahead of the upcoming season. Go Keydets!

Dawson Boyer ’08 and Caleb Boyer ’11, co-owners of Providence Hill Real Estate in Richmond, Virginia, hosted a luncheon for VMI alumni at the Country Club of Virginia—Westhampton Aug. 12, 2026. More than 70 alumni and cadets from the Classes of 1962–2028 attended. During the event, the Boyers presented a gift totaling $25,008.11 to the VMI Keydet Club.

The luncheon also included a panel discussion on the state of VMI athletics and the vision for the program's future, led by Lt. Gen. David J. Furness ’87, VMI superintendent; Jamaal Walton ’07, VMI director of intercollegiate athletics; Andrew Wilson, VMI head basketball coach; and Andrew Deal ’12, VMI Keydet Club chief operating officer and VMI Alumni Agencies chief development officer.

The VMI men’s soccer team played to the final buzzer in a dominant 8-0 win over visiting Warren Wilson College at Patchin Field Aug. 9, 2026. With the win, VMI improves to 4-4 on the season while the Owls fall to 0-3 to start the year.
