Great turnout tonight for National Night Out!

Davidson County Rescue Squad is out with one of our rescue trucks and our drone on display, and it’s been a great evening getting to meet folks from across the community.

There’s also a strong law enforcement presence tonight, along with other public safety agencies, giving families a chance to meet the people behind the uniforms, ask questions, check out equipment, and just spend some time together outside of an emergency.

The kids have especially enjoyed getting an up-close look at the trucks, police vehicles, and drone!

Events like National Night Out are a great reminder that strong communities are built on relationships, trust, and working together.

We’re proud to be here representing Davidson County Rescue Squad and serving alongside our law enforcement and public safety partners.

🎡 Friday night at the fair — and Davidson County showed up! 🎠

After two nights of cancellations due to bad weather, Mother Nature finally decided to cooperate. The weather is absolutely perfect tonight, and judging by the traffic and the crowd, everybody had the same idea! 😂

It is PACKED tonight, and it’s great to see so many folks out enjoying the fair.

If you’re headed this way, bring a little patience — traffic is heavy and our public safety crews are working hard to keep everyone moving safely.

With the amount of rain we’ve had today, this photo seems pretty fitting.

The Davidson County Agricultural Fair has been cancelled for tonight due to the weather. Throughout the fair, Davidson County Rescue Squad provides nightly standby coverage, assisting with everything from minor injuries and illnesses to more serious emergencies.

We’re fortunate to work alongside Davidson County EMS, Holly Grove Fire Department, Triangle Fire Department, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, all of whom play an important role in helping keep fairgoers, workers, and vendors safe throughout the week.

We appreciate the teamwork from everyone involved and hope the weather clears so the fair can get back underway soon.

Stay safe on the roads tonight, there’s plenty of standing water out there.

Motorcycle Accident – Air Medical Transport

Earlier today, emergency crews responded to a single, motorcycle accident involving one rider near Business 29/70 and North Main Street.

Due to the patient’s injuries, AirCare was requested. The patient was transported by ground ambulance to a landing zone established at the fairgrounds parking area, where they were transferred to the helicopter and flown to Baptist Trauma Center for further treatment.

Thank you to all of the responders who assisted with patient care, traffic control, and securing the landing zone.

Another busy afternoon on I-85.

Just before 2:00 PM today, emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-85 Southbound just prior to the NC Highway 150 exit. Despite the amount of damage and the vehicle coming to rest on its roof, we are thankful that no serious injuries were sustained.

Davidson County Rescue Squad, Churchland Fire Department, Linwood Fire Department, Davidson County EMS, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol worked together at the scene to provide patient care, manage traffic, and keep responders and motorists safe.

A big thank-you to Churchland and Linwood firefighters for their work along a very busy stretch of interstate. Highway incidents create significant hazards for everyone on scene, and good teamwork makes all the difference.

Please slow down and move over when approaching emergency vehicles and personnel working along the highway.

Serious Crash on I-85 — Seat Belts Save Lives

Davidson County Rescue Squad responded this morning to a significant single-vehicle crash on I-85 Southbound near the 93-mile marker.

Central Fire Department and Holly Grove Fire Department provided assistance at the scene and established traffic control to help protect responders working alongside the interstate. Working an incident on I-85 brings its own hazards, and having fire personnel managing the roadway and providing a safe working area is an important part of keeping everyone on scene safe.

Davidson County EMS and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol were also on scene, with all agencies working together to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.

Despite the significant damage to the vehicle, the driver fortunately sustained minimal injuries. The driver was wearing a seat belt, which likely played a major role in the outcome of this crash.

It’s a simple reminder worth repeating: Seat belts save lives. Buckle up — every trip, every time.
