Innovative Supports for Autistic Workers A project supporting Kentucky's Business Service Teams and employers across the state to better include autistic people in all types of work settings.

Innovative Supports for Autistic Workers (ISAW) is a collaborative project by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Kentucky Office of Autism, administered by the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute. The purpose of the project is to support Business Service Teams across the state in their efforts to assist employers in working with employees on the autism spectrum. The project will provide in-person trainings, online modules, and ongoing technical assistance.

2026 Autism Informed Employer Video Series
The Innovative Supports for Autistic Workers (ISAW) and the Kentucky Employment First Council share Episode 8 of the 2026 Autism Informed Employer quick-hit video series. This is a monthly 2-minute video series along with quarterly topical conversations.

Episode 8: Communication - Listening to Autistic Workers shares ways some Autistic people speak. In this episode you will learn about echolalia, info-dumping, talking “too much” or “too little.” This includes examples of what these can look like on the job.
