We moved to a 50-acre farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in the mid-90’s. We fell in love with the Great Pyrenees, both as a guardian dog for our miniature sheep, ducks and chickens, and as a companion dog. In 2012, we embarked upon setting up a non-profit rescue for these beautiful ‘gentle giants’ after learning of them being dumped off at shelters, left as unwanted puppies by the side of

the road, and other abuse and cruelties. Our first step was to setup the organization, which was finalized in the Fall of 2014. Utilizing a significant amount of our own lifetime savings, we began construction of a facility to house these beautiful animals, which is now near completion.
