CKHA is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) youth ice hockey program that is located in Lexington, Kentucky. Located in the heart of horse country, the Central Kentucky Hockey Association (CKHA) is the parent organization of the Lexington Thoroughbreds youth ice hockey teams. Following th

e USA Hockey ADM, CKHA provides youth ice hockey programs for Lexington, Kentucky and the greater Central Kentucky region, including Learn To Play (LTP), House Leagues, Select, and Travel teams.

Today was the first session of our FREE Girls Only Learn to Play, and we loved seeing so many girls out there learning the game, building confidence and having fun!

Whether today was their very first time on skates or they’ve been wanting to give hockey a try, this is exactly what this program is all about. 💪

There’s no better way to introduce your child to hockey than our Learn to Play program! 🙌

Session 1: Sept 29 – Nov 3
Tuesdays, 6:00-6:45pm
6 weeks of fun, engaging, on-ice instruction

And here’s the best part — your player gets to KEEP their full equipment set: skates, helmet, pads, stick, and bag!

We’ll host an Equipment Fitting Day, where our volunteers help size everything up just right (skate sizing follows Pure Hockey guidelines).

Calling all players 12U and up! This clinic is designed to teach the fundamentals of playing the body — safely, confidently, and effectively.
Players will work through both on-ice and off-ice sessions with our coaching staff, focusing on proper technique, body positioning, and injury prevention.
