The Junior League of Lexington's Holly Day Market is the must-attend shopping event of the season! Dec. 4-6, 2026, at Alltech Arena

In 2007, the Junior League of Lexington launched the Holly Day Market as an event to raise funds to further the Junior League’s mission of promoting the quality of life in the Bluegrass. Portions of ticket sales and funds go to local and nonprofit charities.The Holly Day Market brings vendors from across the United States to Lexington for one weekend to give shoppers the opportunity to buy holiday

gifts in one spectacular location. Vendors sell jewelry; clothes for women, men and children; toys; books; holiday decorations; ornaments; art; food; and much more. Plus, the Holly Day Market offers daily events and activities for everyone including a much anticipated visit from Santa.

It’s and today we are highlighting our Marketing/PR Chair, Emily Lawrence! This is Emily’s second year serving as Marketing/PR Chair for the Holly Day Market, and her fourth year in the Junior League of Lexington!

Emily loves the Holly Day Market because it represents the best of Kentucky and the best of the Junior League–bringing together local businesses and women leaders for an unforgettable weekend of shopping, classes, and raising money for our community.

Outside of the market, Emily is a very active volunteer in the community, spending most of her time with the Lexington Humane Society, providing dog training and enrichment. Please join us in thanking Emily for her contributions to the market!

This year marks 20 years of the Junior League of Lexington Holly Day Market! The first annual Holly Day Market took place at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2007, welcoming 53 merchants and shoppers from all over Central Kentucky!

The idea—sparked by former JLL President Taylor Fister and Eli Kessler Mitchell, the event’s first chair—took nearly two years to bring to life. But in 2007, after reaching out to six other Leagues across the country for best practices, the Junior League of Lexington launched its very first Holly Day Market.

Since then, the Holly Day Market has become a beloved Lexington tradition and a flagship fundraiser for the League’s mission. Over the years as the market has grown, we’ve changed locations, brought in record numbers of shoppers, and raised tens of thousands of dollars to support our community.

The Holly Day Market isn’t just about holidays—it’s about hope. It’s what happens when women lead with vision and a willingness to grow.
