Key Restoration Steward Lisa Ciolli Retrieves fishing line from limbs at Cross Keys Park Pond as part of a cleanup conducted Monday, November 17 at the park. Fishing line can tangle wildlife, and hooks can also cause injury for critters and part visitors. The park is a popular fishing spot, even though Fish and Wildlife doesn't stock the pond. Take a tour of restoration efforts in the Wolf Run Watershed, without leaving your comfy desk/chair/phone. This new "StoryMap" developed by UK Cooperative Extension features interviews with our volunteer and technical leadership working to improve our waterway. This was funded by a LFUCG Water Quality Incentive Grant and created by Lee Moser, Katherine Bullock and Amanda Gumbert from the University of Kentucky.

Getting ready for a visit from our buffer browser goats at Oxford Circle. Volunteers collected trash (we don't want the goats to eat) and set up temporary fencing to help the goats focus on the target area. The goats eat invasive bush honeysuckle, winter creeper and poision ivy (among other things). Funded by the LFUCG Water Quality Incentive Grants through Friends of Wolf Run.

10th District Council Member Dave Sevigny hosted a public meeting Wednesday evening on upcoming Sanitary Sewer system repairs in the Southland area, fixing chronically overflowing sewer lines. Construction will take about a year. An excellent turn-out considering the topic and weather with folks from Picadome, Southland, Pensacola Park, Elam Park and Friends of Wolf Run in attendance thanks to his office's outreach to interested parties.
