On behalf of the 100 Women Executive Committee, thank you to everyone who attended last night's inaugural Outstanding Young Woman Award Ceremony. It was an honor to celebrate the eight outstanding nominees who make an impact on our community every day.

We'd like to extend a huge congratulations to our winner, Senator Amanda Bledsoe. Her leadership and dedication to Central Kentucky are a true inspiration to us all.

Every community is shaped by everyday women whose quiet acts of strength, care, and leadership make a lasting impact. League of Women Voters of Lexington, KY, in partnership with the Lexington History Museum, invites residents to lift these women into the historical record through Stand with HER Story—a community storytelling project honoring Fayette County women whose contributions deserve to be remembered.

This is not an awards program. It is a living archive. Stories submitted will become part of a permanent digital display at the Lexington History Museum, preserving the legacies of women who have strengthened families, neighborhoods, and the city itself.

Anyone may nominate a woman that matters—family, friend, mentor, colleague, or community member. Each submission includes:
- Your name and email
- The nominee’s name
- A short narrative (250 words or fewer) describing her impact
- A photo, if available

Nominations are open November 24, 2025 – January 31, 2026.

100 Women, a local donor and advocacy organization, announces the launch of the inaugural year of the Outstanding Young Woman Award. This annual recognition will be given to a young woman between the ages of 25 and 50 who has demonstrated leadership abilities, including involvement in organizations, initiatives or projects that impact the community or their industry.

Founded 14 years ago, the 100 Women initiative has raised over $700,000 for local non-profits that support and provide programming for women and their children within the community. Recently, a new classification of membership, 100 Younger Women, was established for women ages 50 and younger.

100 Women Executive Committee chair, Kathy Plomin, explained that one of the goals of 100 Women is to develop a philanthropic mindset for young women. “We hope to hand the baton to the next generation of women donors and advocates”. The establishment of the Outstanding Young Woman Award is to acknowledge the many accomplishments of young women and is reflective of the new membership classification and its purpose.

Candidates may be self-nominated or nominated by other individuals, businesses, or community organizations. The nomination form will be available on the 100 Women website, www.100womenlexington.org. The nomination deadline is November 30, 2025. An award presentation is planned for spring 2026.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our networking and recruitment event last night! We heard from three of our funded agencies: Sexual Violence Resource Center of the Bluegrass, The Nest - Center for Women, Children and Families, and Refuge for Women. he stories of the work they're doing every day were truly inspiring and serve as a great reminder of why 100 Women exists.

Last but not least, a huge thank you to 100 Women Executive Committee Member, Jackie Banahan, for hosting us in her wonderful home.

Thank you to all the guests, agencies and 100 Women members who were able to join us last night at our annual Check Distribution! Thank you to Berkshire Hathaway for graciously hosting us.

Our main goal is to support and advocate for nonprofit organizations that take care of women and children in Central Kentucky. Last night was a reminder of that incredible work and the huge impact the agencies have on the community every day.
