Camp Shawano is 142 acres set on the bluffs above the Kentucky River in Jessamine County, KY consisting of large meadows for sports and recreational activities, a climbing tower, and facilities for year round use.

☀️ Girl Scout Day Camp at Camp Shawano is back for Summer 2026!

Come explore nature, learn outdoor skills, play games, sing songs, and make new friends! Girls who have completed grades K–6 are invited to join us for one (or more!) amazing weeks of day camp.

📅 Camp Sessions:
• Nature Explorers – June 8–12 (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)
• Happy Birthday USA – June 15–19 (9:30 AM–3:15 PM)
• Every Ability Counts: Imagineer Week – June 22–26 (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)

⏰ Registration Deadlines:
• April 25 – Nature Explorers
• May 1 – All other sessions

- June 8-12 | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day with an overnight stay on Wednesday, June 10.

- Extended Day program available before and after regular hours

Get out with your sister Girl Scouts for a fun filled week of summer day camp. Join us for the fun! Activities include learning camp skills, crafts, hiking, flag ceremonies, archery, climbing tower and lots more. Campers will also design their own camp shirt.

TODAY IS THE DAY! 2026 Spring Open House at Camp Judy Layne is TODAY from 1pm to 4pm. This event is completely free and open to the public. Come check out Camp Judy Layne and enjoy hiking our trails, trying the climbing tower, fishing in Cross Lake and making s'mores over the campfire! The jumping pillow will also be open making it a family friendly event for kids and adults of all ages. Please stop by the dining hall when you arrive to check in!

Troop Camp Training is coming up May 2–3, 2026 at the Erlanger Girl Scout Experience Center!

Get ready to level up your outdoor leadership skills! This required training ensures that at least one volunteer per troop is fully prepared to lead safe, fun, and memorable camping adventures. This training is required in order to take your troop on camping trips and to reserve Girl Scout camp properties.
Join us at the brand new Erlanger Property for hands-on instruction from our experienced camp staff. You’ll practice essential outdoor skills like camp cooking, knots, knife safety, and more—and even pitch tents right on the property!

Location: Erlanger Property (Watson Road)
Cost: $35 per Adult Volunteer

Girl Scout Day Camp at Camp Shawano Session 2

Celebrate America's birthday at our fun-filled Girl Scout Day Camp at Camp Shawano. This summer’s camp will offer a variety of activities that show campers how things have changed in the past 250 years! Join us for music, crafts, and All-American games.

Other activities

· Hiking

· Climbing wall

· Archery

· Badge activities

· Girl Scout skills

· Homemade Ice cream

· Tie dye t-shirt

· Thursday overnight

· Friday All-Camp Lunch and Activities

· Each Camper receives a badge, camp patch, swaps and a unit picture

Camp runs from 9:15 - 3:15, Monday - Friday, with one overnight on Thursday. Campers in 5th-6th grade have an additional overnight on Tuesday. Extended day is available for early drop off and/or late pick up. Fee for camp is $75. Extended day is $25. Campers can use Cookie Dough or Scholarship.
